W2 Question

How can I obtain a W2 form from a part-time I worked last year? The company is now out of business and the owner has declared bankruptcy. Shouldn't the 3rd party payroll company have sent the W2s out already? I called the owner of the business to remind him that W2s should have gone out already but I don't have much faith that he will get on the ball and make the proper phone calls to get this problem fixed. While he's at it, maybe he can send me my last paycheck that he used for himself instead of giving to me. Oh did I mention that the business owner is my BROTHER?!!!!!!!!!

I don't think the 3rd party payroll company is required to send W2s if they're not paid to do it. I could be wrong about that, but it's in the recesses of my head.

I had this happen to me once, too, and I ended up reporting the company. IRS told me to just send my last paystub with the 1040. This was many years ago, though, so I'd advise calling the IRS to see what you should do as it isn't your fault.
