We just spent five wonderful nights in Studio 3505 at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge. What an awesome, spectacular place this is. After my DH finally picked his jaw up off the floor he said buying DVC was the best thing we ever did.

The pool was warm and wonderful. We used the free laundry room a couple times, ate breakfast at Whispering Canyon and had a couple snacks at Roaring Forks.

Most mornings we drank our coffee on the balcony that overlooked the pool and a sliver of the lake and several evenings were spent in the main lobby drinking in the atmosphere (as well as hot chocolate-why did I crave hot chocolate when it was 90 degrees?).

Our favorite Disney touches were the music that played all day and in the evening, the "recorded" cricket chirps and owl hoots.

We also enjoyed the geyser and the EWP!

It was GREAT!!!!!

Ah, yes.... You are now inducted into the 'VWL is awesome' club.
You are correct... The theme music is FANTASTIC!!!

Thanx for the report.

So glad to hear you enjoyed your stay in the peace and tranquility that we call Wilderness Lodge and Villas. It had the same effect on us our first trip home. I think that hot chocolate deal is the cause and effect of those cozy fireplaces. Makes you feel like its cold outside. Disney sure knows how to pull the wool over peoples eyes sometimes. I know cause they've done it to me plenty of times but Im not complaining.

that we are afraid to make reservations anywhere else! VWL is our home resort but we thought we would try them all since our travel time is pretty flexible. Well, after our first trip to VWL we are afraid to try anything else because we just can't imagine any place could beat it!

Recorded? I'm shattered!

Hey Pig Pen,
We stayed in that exact room when we went down for my birthday last July. Wasn't that a GREAT veiw and location. We have requested it again for our Nov. Trip. Glad you had such a GREAT time.

The recorded animal sounds are not just done by VWL but if any of you like to watch the "Masters" golf tournament you will hear nothing but bird chirps all over the place--all recorded. It gives it a nice affect but it is much better if you think they are real. I miss the old recorded music they had for years at OKW it sort of went along with the theme not the swing music they have now. Background music or animal sounds are a nice touch most of the time.

But but but --- there were real birds in the trees at BWV, weren't they?

Pharmlivin,

We were afraid to stay anywhere else also! We had stayed at VWL many times and were afraid to make the leap. My DH was dead set against it, them just the two of us went this spring without kids, and I said Honey, lets try BWV for a change. He said OK and was surprised how much he liked it.

VWL is much more his atmosphere, but he told me over and over again how much he enjoyed the boardwalk and so much to see and do!! We will definitely stay at BCV or Boardwalk again in the future.

We liked the BWV almost as much as VWL, if VWL gets a 100, BWV gets a close 95.

Hope this helps.

Lizzie

Pig Pen, glad you had a great trip.

We got back on the 30th from VWL and OKW. VWL is our favorite and we switched there mid-trip as we were homesick. That music is just the best. We were in room 1547, bottom floor, back-side. Although I was a little concerned about creepy crawlers on my patio, only saw a few lizards. We did have 2 ducks that came twice and they took bread right from my hand. They were so cute. It was sad to leave them. It was so funny one afternoon they came right up and looked in as though they remembered us feeding them the day before. So we dug out the bread, then they took a nap right there. Thursday night we were coming back from the boat area and were almost to the door by Muscles when I saw something cross our path. I was so startled I grabbed my DH and jumped back. It was an armadillo. He crossed and buried his head in the bushes with just his tail sticking out. We laughed so hard. I'm sure we startled him as much as he startled us.
