VWL...wow!

Last year we stayed at VWL and All Star. All Star had better televisions than VWL. Sad.:sad2:

Glad to hear you are enjoying the WLV. We leave in a week and can't wait. Would love to see some pics when you get a chance.

We've been at VWL a few days now and I have SERIOUS addonitis!! It really is beautiful and so peaceful!

We bought VWL sight unseen and when we made our first trip 10 months after purchasing, knew we made a right choice from the second we entered the lobby!

During that trip, we sat in the hot tub with a family that had just come from another resort (not to be named). In their words "This is peaceful....Over at the #*&$&, it's like ants on an anthill!" Another person in our party remarked how nice it was to come back to the peace of WL after a crazy day in the parks.

We'll be there in 15 days! Can't wait!

Even the rooms facing the bus area (which you really can't see from most of them) are quiet! Unless you happen to be over the dumpster area on trash pick up day with the beeping, there are *only* quiet rooms at VWL:rotfl:

Thanks for the reply! So you really can't "see" the dumpster then? Do they pick up the trash often though or can you smell the dumpster?? Just some of my concerns with that.;) Do you know if all of the WLV rooms have been renovated?

I really needed to read this thread because it just hit me. I will be there in 2 days. This has been the longest year of my life and the excitement just hit me. This trip was decided almost a year ago. On Dec. 19, 2007 I lost my job (a really, really good job) due to corporate downsizing. I didn’t even see it coming. In January, my DH made the decision that we would use our points for a Christmas trip since the holidays were less happy for me. Also, our anniversary is Dec. 22. Funny looking back now but I felt soooo sorry for myself last year.

Anyways, it’s been a really long, hard year. Not once have I let my guard down and sitting here it just hit me like a ton of bricks……I’m going to Disney World…..I’m really going. Not only did I survive the longest year of my life….but I’m going to Disney and staying at VWL, our home resort.

Thank you OP, I really needed your thread.

Kim

disney calls it a service station. It contains not only the trash but all the stuff that kepts VWL running.

that say definitely avoid the rooms - it is not the smell - don't think it smelled at all.

it that darn truck backing up and the noise it makes - and it does it at awfully times - like 3 or 4 am.....

if you are in room ending in 60 or 62 (studios) - you will heard it.

If you are in the Mercantile, would you mind checking to see if they have frozen mixed vegetables, yogurt and/or what brand(s) of baby food. We are leaving in a couple of weeks and I am trying to figure out what to pack or oder from Garden Grocer for my 11 month old. Thank you.

This is the baby food that was available at the mercantile. Ok. That isn't working. Try this link:http://www.me.com/gallery/#100058

Thanks for the feedback regarding this. I would have a problem hearing trucks backing up in the middle of the night. I will definitely request to NOT be in those numbered rooms.

Is there any "area" as opposed to room numbers TO request as far away from this area as possible???:thumbsup2
