VWL week after Thanksgiving?

What are the chances of getting any kind of ressie at VWL for Sun Nov.26-Sun.Dec.2, with about 7.5 months out? With any luck my contract will be through before then and can make ressies. Yes I know it is a busy time we spent 1st week of Dec.at Poly last year and loved it. I assume that inside the 7 mo. window there is no chance.

With any luck (we'll be rooting for ya) - you'll just make it to be put on the waitlist that will come through. 2005 was the turning point for me. I owned at OKW as it was the cheapest resale and maintenance fees and I had gotten into the WLV every November/December after Thanksgiving since the Villas opened. 2005, however, was not the case. I called at exactly the 7 month window and was put on a waitlist. I changed my 11 month ressie at OKW (Home resort) to stay at SSR since it was brandy new and might as well stay at someplace different. I called everyday for the two weeks before arrival but still no lodge. Arrived at SSR and called MS every morning and evening to find if there were any cancellations at the WLV by the 5th day we were able to switch the the WLV. I came home sold OKW and bought at the WLV as I just couldn't take it. I just don't want to stay anywhere else but the WL. Maybe in a couple of years I'll want to do a split stay at AKL to WL but I wouldn't bet on it. Good Luck.

I would never say "no chance" for any reservation at any time, but I think you are correct in that inside the 7 month window for VWL at that time is challenging.

My guess is you will have to waitlist at least some of the days of your vacation.

At least if you're booking with the home resort advantage, you are only waitlisting with other VWL owners (which is a relatively small number). So I'd think you would have a decent chance of a waitlist coming through if you book before 7 months. Of course, it all depends on cancellations and that's pure luck.

If you end up on the waitlist, I'd suggest trying some other resort as a back up plan (OKW and SSR would probably be your best options).

And at the minimum, you will know that in future years you probably won't have to go through this! Good luck!
