We are in the process of planning our trip for January 2009 and have narrowed it down to Villas at Wilderness Lodge or Boardwalk Villas.

It will be DH and I and our 2 ds. One will be almost 6 and the other will be almost 3. This is going to be their birthday trip :) We will be spending the majority of our time at MK.

Any pros and cons to either of these?

Thanks :)

Since you will be spending most time at MK, definitely go with VWL. We stayed there last year with our kids (then 2 and 5) and loved it so much we are returning next year. Being near MK was/is a big priority for us. We do rent a car and drive to the parks other than MK.

There is a boat ride from VWL to the Magic Kingdom. WE love the Boardwalk because we can walk to DHS and EPCOT. If I was spending my time at MK, I would stay at VWL.

We were at WDW last month and did a split stay between BWV and VWL. It's not too bad to do that, we had Disney transfer the luggage between resorts.

If you plan to spend most time at the MK though I too would say VWL. They are totally different themes but both are very nice.

We also split our stay last time between VWL and BWV. I much prefer BWV becasue of the location and proximity to Epcot and US. I also think the BW is a blast an night.

That being said if you are going to spend most of your time at MK than VWL is a no brainer. It is a pain to get from BWV to MK. They are both excellent resorts.

I agree...VWL is great for families spending most of their time at the MK...

The pools are about the same at each resort (neither have the zero-entry)....BW does have the better slide though....

The Dining Plan is better at the WL because of Roaring Forks and Whispering Canyon are both very family friendly and are on the plan....We had trouble using the plan at the BW because there is not much in the way of counter options there...They do have the Boardwalk Bakery but you cannot sit down inside...

The villa rooms are a bit larger at the VWL...

Yes, you easy access to two parks at the BW...But you have better access to the park you will spending the marioity of the time.

No question. If MK is your priority, WLV. If epc or dhs then BWV;)
