Hi all,

We're planning our first trip home to VWL this October, and can't wait. The one-bedroom is waiting for us

However, I don't want to obsess over what room we have, even though it's completely part of my nature to obsess. Notice, I'm thinking about room requests in March for an October vacay...

Anyway, the only request we MUST have is a non-smoking room for medical reasons. Already asked, figure we'll probably get that.

But what are the views like from the non-water side of VWL? Are you looking at trees or a sea of parked cars. A water/pool view isn't that big a deal, and we don't mind staring at some pine trees while we're there. For Pete's sake, we live in Maine - if pine trees bothered me, I'd be crazy by now!

But how attractive - or unattractive are the view on the other side?

Thanks,

Daisy :smooth:

Well here is a resort map from before the villas were added.WL Map

The villas would be in the lower right corner of the framed area (bewteen spots 18 and 19)

We only stayed there once so far and had woods view on the other side towards the water. But from walking over from the main building I know there are trees bewtween the Villas and the bus stop, and then the parking is beyond that (a good distance past the bus stops). So overlooking a seas of cars is unlikely.

I did see one post about someone having a view overlooking a dumpster, but I don't remembers which room that was. Or where the dumpster they were talking about is.

That would be us! We had the dumpster view, I think I wrote a post about it a month or so ago. Anyway, I believe it was room 3560. The third floor, opposite side from the pool/water, all the way to the end of the hallway...a breathtaking view of the dumpster/service area. There were houskeeping carts going in and out at all times of the day. It was high enough up that it wasn't totally irritating, just look straight out the balcony at the woods, don't look down! :smooth:

We stayed in a non-water side at VWL last time we were there.

We overlooked the walkway between the 2 buildings and trees.
We liked watching people coming and going (going the kids wre skipping & coming back they were very tired). We could hear the buses but it wasn't bad.

We liked it
