We are going for a 10 night trip to the lodge. The first night we will be in the main lodge and then 9 nights in the villas. Am I correct that we should either self-park or pay for valet parking that first night - since we won't be staying in the villas til the 2nd night? We are DVC owners, not renting. Thanks!! :flower:

Valet park for the whole time if you like. No charge (except a tip if service warrants) even for the first night.

The DVC free valet perk is avilable to members even if they are not staying at a DVC resort on points. You could even stay off site and valet park for free at the VWL. Just shopw the valet your blue membership card.

Best wishes-

Thanks so much! A nice perk! VWL here we come.... :cool1:

I know! I love this perk! We ate lunch at BnC at Beach Club and also at WCC at WL and valet parked both times. We also valet parked with our trips to BCV and BWV. I missed having that and a porter at SSR this year because we always have a lot of stuff. My DH didn't want to use valet! I was like..WHAT?! It's free and you have to tip, but I don't tip them $10 each way! Have fun on your vacation! The Lodge was beautiful! It was our 1st time visiting, but we'll make sure to book a stay there in the future!

Just concurring that I have made a few business trips to Orlando and used the valet parking at BWV to take some people to lunch on the Boardwalk. Never a problem or charge once I show my DVC card!

Excellent! I was just wondering about this as well. We are staying at WL for the first time next week. I've used the valet services at BCV and BWV but since we've joined DVC I've never stayed at the non DVC section of the resorts.

Question - If I show the valet my DVC card at check in and then don't use the car again until the next morning will that cover going into the next day? I assume they write DVC or something on their end of the claim ticket so when I call for the car in the morning it's a non issue and it won't be charged on my hotel bill? So I do not need to tell hotel check in that I have a car but I'm using DVC perk for valet services?

We've not had any problems in similar situations. If by chance a valet charge does appear on your bill, just show your blue membership card to the Front Desk CM and ask him/her to remove the valet charge.

When you check in, you should always tell the resort that you have a car. If you don't, you won't get a parking pass. You'll need that if you drive to the parks (for the free parking) or later decide to self park. The Front Desk doesn't care if you valet park or not, so no need to even mention that.

It should be noted that the check-in mentioned above actually occurs at the security entrance to the WL/VWL complex. At least, that's where we've gotten our vehicle pass each time we've stayed there. You stop, give them your name, and they give you a pass for your windshield. As mentioned, any problems with valet parking charges can be addressed by a CM at the main lobby desk. Have a great trip! :earsboy:

Must be different procedure at different times. All of our stays at VWL we have received our parking pass at check-in at the main desk.

We've always received our parking pass from the Front Desk CM (for BWV).

One pass from the security guy at the front gate and then a different pass in the packets at check-in. Thanks for the feedback everyone!

Has anyone renting points been charged for valet parking? Do they always ask to see the card?

every time I have used it they have asked to see the card. they are supposed to ask for it.

but then again, I am a dvc member anyway. i've used it though and don't whip out my card unless they ask and they always do.

When I have valet parked at BW when staying there, they never asked to see the card and I was never charged. I assumed they went by the "member parking permit".
