Monday - June 28:
Wake up is 6:30 as we are going to EMH at AK. Normally I prefer EMH at MK but it didn't work out this trip. We quickly discovered at the bus stop that we would see 2 buses for each destination except where we were going! Arrived at AK gate at 7:45. Guests were being allowed through the gate and led to the front of the Tree of Life. After the opening ceremony, everybody dashed to the Safari (10 minute wait). As always we saw lots of animals, including zebras up close for the first time. Our truck, along with several others, was delayed about 5 minutes on the plains area for reasons unknown. We guessed an animal was in the way, but we'd never had a delay that long before. It was almost 9:00 so we headed for Kali River Rapids. There was a crowd of about 30 waiting. When the ride opened, we were all loaded quickly. It's a fun water ride but shorter than I remembered. Luckily, we were not the passengers that got completely soaked. We passed the construction for Exhibition Everest on the way to Dinoland. It looks to be a really fun coaster. Primeval Whirl was a walk-on. TriceraTop Spin was not open for reasons unknown to the cast member and never did open while we were in the area. Dinosaur had about a 15 minute wait. Once we boarded and cleared the loading area, the ride stopped. Maintenance worked about 10 minutes. We even had to unbuckle, stand up, and then rebuckle. Then we back-tracked to Asia and the Jungle Trek. Didn't see Divine this trip. We always enjoy the trek, bats and gorgeous tigers (my favorite). As we headed to the exit, we had photos made with Rafaki and Cinderella's mice. At the last minute, we decided to make a quick stop at the Villas. We changed shirts (it was so hot and humid) and replenished water. Then we headed to MGM and our 2:00 PS at the Sci Fi Diner. This has become a tradition for us. We enjoy the atmosphere and the burgers/shakes aren't bad either! Even at 2:00 the place was overflowing with folks, but we were seated with 5 minutes of arrival. Now we were revived for an afternoon of favorites - Muppets, Great Movie Ride, Star Tours, Rock n Roller Coaster, etc. Clayton had to buy a RnR Coaster Tshirt (he had been given plenty of spending money). So far we hadn't found it necessary for fast pass (RnR coaster was a 30 minute wait which is o.k. for us). After all our favorites we were exhausted and it was about to storm. We went to Downtown Disney to scout for potential souvenirs, then back to the Villas, relaxed, watched TV and finally had a light snack. Off to bed! Part 3 later.

Thank you LovetoTigger! :sunny:

You put a lot of work into your report and I really enjoyed reading it. Was surprised that you did not need Fastpass this time of year!

Thanks, Lisa
