VWL Tour

I heard on the podcast about the VWL Lodge tour Kathy took. We will be coming down in December and I would love to take the tour. What time are the tours held and is there a limit to how many people can go? Thanks!

The tour is of the Wilderness Lodge itself. This is the info from the WL thread on the resorts board:

A unique tour, called the "Wonders of the Lodge," is offered to guest on various days beginning at 9:00a.m. During the summer months the tours will be on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday.This guided tour provides an informative look at the history of Disney's Wilderness Lodge, including its distinctive construction, theming and artwork. Please call the Front Desk for the schedule of the tour days and availability. (Guest should meet in the Lobby of Wilderness Lodge.)

FYI: Almost the entire tour is about construction factoids (different types of lumber, stone, square footage, the number of lbs of concrete used, etc.) I went on this tour with misaligned expectations. I went with the idea that I would hear more stories about people and events, so I had quite a mental adjustment to make when I realized we weren't going to talk about anything other than brick and mortar. Also, you never leave the lobby and, for the vast majority of the tour, you stand in the same spot. It's not a "tour" in the traditional sense. I have to say, though, that Park Ranger Stan (who conducts the tour) is phenomenal. Even though parts of the tour may border on ?mundane? (please no flame throwing ), going just to meet this man makes it worth it. He will most likely give you his own personal history working at Disney which is really interesting IMO.

Anyway, just wanted to pass this on. I may have enjoyed the tour more if my expectations had matched the actual tour.
