VWL rooms- locations?

I now have 3 nights a VWL- and I know NOTHING about this place. I've stayed at the Lodge, and walked through the villas, but otherwise- I don't no a thing. So, can oyu please give me some tips- any rooms I don't want? ANy rooms, or area I do want? Anything else I need to know? You guys are the best for this info! I'm so glad I found the DIS!

OH!! and one more ting- where the heck do I check in? In the lodge?

Hi, karebear1. I think you will really enjoy VWL.
Yes, check-in is in the main Lodge. If you request the side with the lake and the pool, you will not get the dumpster or bus depot view (although these views are truly not as bad as many make them out to be). My favorite view is of the pure wilderness (woods and lake), without seeing the pool. Also be sure to ask for a room with an open balcony, as a few have enclosed balconies. I am not sure what size room you are getting, but many of the dedicated 2brs on the fifth floor have vaulted ceilings.

Have a great trip.....you're going to a wonderful resort!

BTW...check-in is at the regular desk that everyone else checks in for WL...there is no separate VWL check-in desk.
