Would love input on a good 1 bedroom location for 2 adults at VWL. Tops on our list is a good view. We'll be there Nov. 8-12. Thanks in advance!

Our favorite view at the VWL is upper floor, quiet pool view

Thanks HBC! That sound like just the ticket. Any particular room numbers we should request?

DVC won't take specific room requests but they will take general view requests. Get familiar with the resort and if they give you a room at check in that doesn't fit what you want, then ask for something else then and there. Here is a link to a data base of room information in Adobe Acrobat put together by fellow Dis Board member InstImpres.

Yep, here come's that picture again! :p

VWL is the building with the red roof. The green roof is Wilderness Lodge. As you can see from the picture, you will most likely be looking at trees! Of course, this is in perfect keeping with the theme of the resort.

Just wanted you to be aware that there are only a few rooms that overlook the quiet pool.

I only posted this so you wouldn't get your expectations up too much. Also, to let you know that the view at VWL is probably more uniform across the board than any other DVC resort.

It's a great resort...enjoy your trip! :)

Wow!! What a great pic!!! I learn something new EVERYDAY!!!

:p

That picture is GREAT!! but from what I see the view to the bay that was once available.. wouldn't be now because of the tree growth.. is that true or is that wrong?

The link that Happy Birthday Cat provided is super.. print it out and save it if, it'll come in handy when it comes to planning.

My guess is, since VWL is still pretty recent, the trees were there first ... meaning, those staying there were looking at trees from the day they opened.

MDonley, you are correct. They pretty much "carved" VWL out of an existing area of woods.

If you have a room overlooking the quiet pool, you can get a partial view of the lake through the trees.

Here's a picture from the Bay Lake side where you can see a little of the quiet pool....the rooms at the end nearest WL are the ones being discussed.

Granny,

You know I love those pictures. You should just re-post them once a month so that folks can see the different views.

HBC...thanks...they really are great pictures, aren't they? And don't worry, hardly a month goes by without someone asking about VWL room views!

I've just found that a picture is worth 1,000 words. Or 2,000 words, since I posted two of them! :p

Granny-

Where did you get those wonderful photos? Are they for sale somewhere??

Lyndarella....I found the pictures at www.disneypix.com .

It is one of the best photo websites of WDW that I've ever seen. And evidently, the site owner took an aerial tour of WDW at some point and posted a lot of aerial photos.

Just put the word "aerial" in his site search box and you'll see tons of them!

Granny,

I'm so disappointed. All this time I thought you took those while parasailing on Bay Lake!;)
