For you VWL owners. I am thinking of purchasing a VWL resale. However I wanted to know how difficult it is for VWL owners to book during the 11 month window. I get the impression that it is hard to get rooms sometimes during peak periods.

I have never had any problems booking at the 11 month window and that includes booking for Dec.. I do always book the first possible day, though. I couldn't tell you how diffcult it might be to book if you waited. Someone else will probably come along who can help you with that. My experience is that, so long as you plan ahead, you'll never have a problem.

We also own at VWL and book for either of the first 2 weeks of December. We always book a 1 BR and have never had a problem booking at 11 months out. But we do always call the first day and maybe a couple of times total to get the entire stay. We don't do the day-by-day reservations.

Just remember that at 11 months + one day there are ZERO rooms booked by members. A resort reaching 100% capacity is a gradual process that happens over weeks and months--not right at 9am the day the 11 month window arrives.

VWL may be a very small resort, but it also has a correspondingly small number of owners who can book at 11 mos.

I booked a 2-bdrm(high demand) at VWL for this coming Thanksgiving(high demand) at 7months + 2 days and while the dedicateds were gone, I got a lockoff with no problem.

Therefore, for VWL owners, booking at the 11 months window should not be a problem...just don't wait for the 7 month window to come and go.

We did a VWL add on this year, and I was able to book a studio in early December for a week at about 9 months out.
