WE are planning a trip in Jan.does anyone know how badly we will be impacted if we go there?

My guess is that you will be impacted. Disney is spending money to move guest away from WL/VWL. We were moved to Kidani for our December reservation and they called us four times to get us to move.

The area next to the building including all the way to the water will be torn up and rebuilt. The published construction hours are now between 9 and 7, 7 days per week.

Talked to MS and the guest experience team, (3 CM's) all they did was move us, no extras. They were offering a 15% point refund if you insisted on staying at VWL but they really wanted to move us. They apparently have a matrix and based on the number of nights, size of room, number in party, determines what is offered and that can change day to day.

I was told that only the guest experience team can do the moves or extras and that the front desk at the WL/VWL will not be moving guests later.

Our problem is we're arriving saturday of the marathon w/e and there really isn't anything else available on the website.We need a 1bedroom and the only other thing is avail, is SSR.

To my knowledge, Disney has only offered any "deals" to those with an existing reservation as of a few weeks ago. Any new reservations since that time would have the notice of the construction, and no incentives to move if that is not appealing.

I'd book SSR right now. Just my two cents.
