Hi all!
We just returned from a GREAT stay at OKW thanks to a fellow Dis'er. My DH is going hunting the last week of October and I have decided to take my 2 DD's (will be 5 and 3) back to WDW while DH goes after his elk! I am bringing a friend along with me so it will be 2 adults and 2 children.
Our DVC friend has graciously offered to rent us points for this vacation and I am a little torn on where to stay. My friend has not been to WDW since the late 80's so it is all new to her. I have stayed onsite 3 times (Pop, WL and twice at OKW) and I kind of want to try something new. Our first choice was a savanna studio at AKL, but after following the boards here, it looks like that ain't happenin'.
We're still going to try, but now I am trying to settle on a second choice.
I LOVED the WL and I think my friend would love it too. She is very oudoorsy and has lived in the Pacific Northwest. I don't know how hard it will be to get a studio at the 7 month window.
Should I even consider it or is it too much of a long shot? (BTW, our dates are Oct. 26-31) I know that I'll end up having to do laundry at least once or twice. How are the laundry facilities at WL for those staying in studios? Are they in the building or by the pool? Are there rooms that are fairly adjacent to the laundry rooms so that I could throw a load in and go back to the room to get the kids to bed? I didn't like the laundries at OKW since they were all by the pools. (That's why we stayed in a 1BR) Also, is the parking for the VWL in the same lot as the WL? It seems like a long walk to the car (I was spoiled by OKW
) so I don't know if we'd use it as much as we did at OKW.
I would really like to stay in either the VWL or the AKL but if both were full, I would be completely happy back at OKW. I love the bigger rooms!
