VWL Question --

Has anyone here ever stayed in one of the Dedicated 2BR in the atrium part of the resort? The rooms are shaped a bit different then the normal dedicated 2BRs and I was wondering what they were like. Was there anything that you really liked or disliked about them?

I delivered a Disboard VWL Christmas tree to a family who was staying in one, I think it was on the third floor. It did have a different floor plan and the family liked it. What the family was complaining about was the heat factor, it was very warm, and I don't know if the issue was resolved.

We stayed in one a few years ago...it was awesome! The living area is larger, brighter (more windows) and had a full size table with 4 chairs.

We stayed in the one on the 5th floor. We absolutely loved it. The living room was so bright with so many windows. The balcony off the living room was a regular balcony, the one off the master bedroom was enclosed. The dining area was bigger, the kitchen maybe a little smaller, just a different setup. It was a walkthrough kitchen, with the washer and dryer in there as well. We really enjoyed that room!

We stayed in one in January of 2007 and loved it. I hope that I get one this coming December.

We also stayed in one a couple years back. We had mixed feelings, but overall we liked it.

-- It was great to experience something different.
-- I really liked overlooking the atrium.
-- There was an extra, long window.
-- If I remember correctly, the kitchen was a walk through galley style kitchen. It seemed a bit smaller, but that could be my imagination.
-- Again, my memory may be failing, but I seem to recall there was less closet space.

There is more, but I can't think of it at the moment.

Our one and only time staying in a 2 bed was on the 2nd floor of that area. We loved it! I think I was a bit spoiled by it. It felt like a ton of room space. Would love to get it again.

We stayed in one of these rooms last year and loved it. Being near the elevator was also a plus.

We have also stayed in one, and loved the layout and extra windows.
The only minus is that the master closet is miniscule.
Not that big of an issue for me, and I have put in a request for one for my upcoming trip.

We've stayed in 5528, wonderful! Our balcony wasn't the obstructed kind.
Probably the only better room would be 5519 for the view!

5519 was the room we had! Yes, loved it, loved the view.

Just fyi for the OP, 5519 for us was a 1BR lockoff, not a dedicated 2BR.

I can answer that - any rooms ending in 60 or 62. I know because we had one back in March.

Thanks for all the great information!! This is exactly what I was looking for.

I was on the phone with a wonderful MS CM a few days ago and she helped me word my request to get me the best odds at getting one of these rooms. Cross your fingers and hope for some pixie dust for me!!

Mind sharing how you worded it? I would love one of those rooms again!

I'm guessing 'pool view, close to elevators'?

Did it have 2 beds in the 2nd BR? I know I saw somewhere that a few of the lockoffs have them.
