We are planning our first visit to the VWL, and in looking at photos I came across what I would consider a professional grade photo of the Villa pool and the villas.

It would seem it was made from above looking down at the pool from the lake area and and the villa building was in the background. The photo showed all of the pool, pool deck, surrounding area and all of the back of the villas on the pool side. There was no one in the pool which makes me think its professional.

This is driving me batty, as I can't find the photo anywhere today to show to my SIL.

Anyone know this photo. :confused3

Man, yall are good, all I had to do is post here and suddenly it came to me where it was. :thumbsup2

By this way this photo makes a great wallpaper for the PC. :)

After looking at this photo, another question. Has anyone stayed in the 2 bedroom dedicated that is the odd shape which would be 2519,3519, or 4519?

If you have was the balcony for this room, the one shown in the stone part of the building that is off set at the corner?

This floor plan may help. It looks like that is the balcony for the 2 bdrm. I would love to see some pics of this room.

Yes, we stayed in 2519 last summer and had the offset balcony overlooking the pool area. However, the floor plan posted above is a bit misleading. The lower arrow on the left is actually pointing to a separate unit. Right above that arrow is the MBR for the actual suite with the upper arrow pointing toward the second bedroom and the kitchen/living areas in between. The living area and second bedroom also have windows overlooking the sidewalk that runs to the rear Villas entrance. The room is situated right above the exercise facility, but we heard nothing during our 5-night stay. I'd love to get this suite again, in fact. :)

Thanks to both of you.

The floor plan helped alot even though as sleepydog25 stated the lower arrow is pointing to the one bedroom next to the this unit.

Sleepydog25 do you have any photos of the room? :thumbsup2

Oh yes! That plan had three units in it, a one bedroom on each side of the corner 2 bedroom. It's a little hard to read being so small. The 'unit 14a' refers to the section of the timeshare used in the offical documents for the sale.

Sleepydog25 do you have any photos of the room?

Sorry to say I do not. We just got a digital camera a few months ago, and before that, we never thought about using film just to photograph our room. However, we shall be going there in three weeks, and I hope we can swing that room or a similar one if possible. If so, we'll take a pic or two if that suits your time frame. :)

That would be great!

We stayed in 5519 last summer. We absolutely loved it, by far the best room we have ever had at a DVC resort. I don't know if I have any pictures, I know we have a lot of video, but that does you no good :sad2: .

Be patient with me, I'll look for pics.

Okay, I have spent the better part of two hours trying to scan some pictures, upload them, resize them, ugh!!!

I can't seem to get the bigger photos in the post so follow this link and tell me if you can see them.

Basically I only have one (rather poor) picture inside the unit. The door would be behind me, the kitchen to the left, along with the entrance to the master bedroom (with cathedral ceilings). Washer and dryer are behind a bifold door in the kitchen also. You can see the tv and sitting area along with balcony (by the way, master bedroom has enclosed balcony). Also behind me was the door to bathroom/jacuzzi area which also opened into the master bedroom). Dining area (square table, 4 chairs) was off to the right a bit, along with door to other bedroom (this particular room was a lock-off, we didn't have the other bedroom). The space and the amount of windows in this unit are amazing!!!)

The other two pictures were taken off our main balcony. Each night we could catch a glimpse of the electric water pageant and sometimes we could see a few glimpses of Wishes over the roof of the main lodge.

I wish we could request this room every visit, but we've also had regular layout, pool view rooms there and have been very happy. Hey, no matter what you get it's still WDW, right?

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!!

No, sorry can't see the photos.

Thanks for sharing, since 5519 is a one bedroom, I would assume the layout in your room is the same as the 2 bedrooms below it minus the extra bedroom.

I see them, looks nice if you can get it, probably wouldnt lose sleep over it, heck you may get the dumpster view if you demand too much.

Wasn't interested in requesting it, just curious what they looked like.

I believe the dumpster view is either a studio or one bedroom, so we would not be affected by that.

We did not request one of these corner rooms, it just worked out that way. We've been to VWL three times and each time requested non-smoking and pool view, and we've always gotten that. This last time we checked in around 11:00 but our room wasn't ready until about 3:00 and we were very pleasantly surprised with what we got.

But VWL is so beautiful we would be happy just about anywhere (not so sure about dumpster view, lol!). Besides, we don't spend a ton of time in the room. I'm getting homesick the longer I stay on this thread! I think we need to start planning for 2007!!! :woohoo:

Sorry, Sammie. We were unable to get any of the corner rooms (2519-5519) though I did request it. When we checked in at about 10:15 a.m., our room was ready. We wound up in 3552 which was just a few doors down from the end of the hallway near the dumpsters. If we stood on either balcony (it's a dedicated 2BR which we requested and did get), we could see the dumpster area off to the left through the trees and behind a fence, but it was only a glimpse. Unless you're the last room or two on that end of the hallway, then the dumpster view doesn't much come into play. The main view from the room was of. . .trees. . .just like the backside rooms, though you could see the occasional bus through said trees and could get a glimpse of the top part of the main lobby/building to the right.

Though we spend a fair amount of time in our rooms, we are rarely on the balcony since we're either resting or going to the pool. My biggest gripe would be noise, not view, and we've never had a room with lots of noise bleeding in. We also live atop a huge hill in the mountains of southwest Virginia, so we have a wonderful view every day. Getting one at VWL simply doesn't rank at the top of our list.

The dedicated 2BR was wonderful and in good shape. We had a light burn out in the shower on Day 2 and the washer stopped working around 11 p.m. on Day 4. Both were fixed promptly and didn't impact our stay at all. As usual, our daughter loved having her own room. . .as did the parents! ;) She actually cried the day we left for home. We're already planning our trip back next year.
