....maybe you already knew this, but after watching a tape on Grand Lodges last night I saw a piece on this place.

http://www.geocities.com/yellowstone_88/innhist1.html

Does it look shockingly familiar to you too? (Let me tell you the tape had me longing to go home :( ) keep scrolling through the pages and look at the lobby and fireplace.

Anyone know if Old Faithful Inn is on II? Has anyone stayed at Old Faithful Inn?

I've done some looking at the Old Faithful Inn.

We were thinking about taking the kids to Yellowstone sometime. I went there when I was a child and I loved it.

It does look nice, doesn't it?

I don't know if it's on II.

I have stayed at Old Faithful Inn two times, and been to Yellowstone 4 times total.
Yellowstone is my favorite National Park. That helped seal the deal in buying DVC when VWL was built.
DH and I both feel WL is a very good recreation of OFI. The only differences is the lack of dust and dryness:D and the way the floors squeak at the real thing, plus there are no elevators or tv's at OFI.
We always stay in the original sections....it feels like being a part of history...... no bathrooms in the rooms but a sink with mirror. The community baths are fun, like being back in a dorm:D You meet people from all over the world while staying there. Our favorite thing to do was in the evenings sit on the second floor balcony and people watch and play cards while sipping the special of the day from the bar and listening to the piano player (they take requests!).
We also had fun talking with the park employees (usually seasonal-college students) who stayed in the top floor (attic) rooms. They loved to tell their best stories about dumb tourists and fellow employee stunts, some were hair-raising:eek:
Thanks for posting the link, I can't wait till I get back to Yellowstone and am looking forward to being back at VWL a week from Saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is a photo of DH and I that our DD took ... on the second floor balcony at Old Faithful Inn.

Thanks for the link. That was great! Those outside shots and that fireplace picture were especially convincing that Disney folks did some investigating at this particular Inn.

BTW, we are really looking forward to finally meeting you next Jan. We missed you at the Dis meet in Dec at BW but you were there in spirit, TigH made sure of that.

Jimmy
