Just looking for opinions .... dh and I have planned a very short trip for our 15th anniversary this October. We have a studio reserved at VWL, where we own. We've never stayed in the Epcot area, and I've wanted to try BCV since it opened, so we're considering trying to switch at the 7-mo. mark.
(I know we might not be successful with Food & Wine Festival, but we may try anyway.)

We're not all that into the F&W, but definitely enjoy spending time at Epcot and MGM. Plus, most of the evenings we'll be there will be MNSSHP at the MK, so our time there will be during the days only anyway.

Dh is willing to do either (though of course he prefers his VWL). We aren't planning a return trip for 2-1/2 years (that trip will definitely be at VWL for dh's 40th/ds' 16th b-days).

Should we go with the resort we know we love, or take a chance on something different (even with the dicey reviews I've read?)?

Any opinions are welcome!! :)

As I have never been to VWL, I can not compare the two so I will leave that for others. However, I do think you would enjoy BCV. It really is a pretty resort. Will you be swimming? As you probably know, SAB is a wonderful pool. DH and I love the "lazy river" area for a relaxing afternoon, while ds(13) goes down the slide. The Yachtsman Steakhouse in the nearby Yacht Club is a nice place to have an anniversary dinner, IMHO. I think being close to Epcot is a nice treat also. Well, I am sure others will have more to add and will be able to compare the two.

Good Luck in your decision. I know sometimes it is just nice aned safe to go where you know you have had a great vacation before and do not take chances. However, I am sure you will not go wrong with either choice!! We love BCV!! :sunny:

Hi My DH and I own in VWL and we love it. This past January we spent 4 nights with our DS's in BCV and they loved it there. It is a beautiful resort. However for me it was very big. I love the homeyness of the Wilderness Lodge. The BeachClub pool is beautiful my kids loved it. It was impossible to get in quickly to Beaches and Cream so we never ate there. We are very glad we stayed there so my advice to you is yes you should try it. It is great when you can compare the resorts and figure out which ones you truly enjoy. The walk to Epcot was our favorite part of BCV. We did that every day and truly enjoyed it. Good luck with your decision. Oh and the one con was when checking in they never said "Welcome Home" like they do at Wilderness Lodge. I never get tired of hearing that! :cheer2:
