We just returned yesterday from a wonderful stay at ASMO and our VWL home. This trip, we stayed in the 1BR portion of a 2BR lock-off. The last time we stayed VWL, we had the same. I'm sure the 1-BR this year seemed larger than it did last year. When the sofa bed was pulled out, there was plenty of room to move around the end of the bed, last year it was tight. Are the 1BRs larger in certain portions of the VWL? Also toured the BCV model, and this years 1BR VWL seemed larger than that as well. Has anyone else noticed this?

Also.....since we were enjoying our DVC during the "GREAT Mug Debate", I just wanted to let all know that I enjoyed filling my VWL mug at ASMO and VWL.  I also used some sugar packets from Roaring Forks for my DVC coffee   Stop me before I theft again   We bought one of our VWL mugs the first year they started this program (95 or 96?) and the new mugs hold about 1/3 less than the original Aladdin brand mug. The Aladdin brand mug work better as they have real insulation and not just an "air space" like many of the new mugs. We use the mug program for variety. We stock coke in the unit, but will get iced tea, coffee, sprite, etc. at the fountains. We have several mugs from different resorts and stopped buying them for each resort.

We were at our home resort of VWL a week ago and were told by the bellman to ask for a corner 2bdr because they are a little larger than the others, so I wonder if your 1 bedroom was part of a corner unit. We asked for a corner unit when we checked in, but were told that we couldn't do that because we had asked for a dedicated 2bdr when I made the ressies, so we would have 2 double beds in the second bedroom.

Johnnie F....glad to hear you had a great trip "home". :D

The 1BR we had earlier this year had plenty of room at the foot of the fold out sofa. In fact, we were able to fold out the sofa bed and put an air mattress at the foot of that bed (between the bed and the TV center). Granted, once we did that, it was a little tough to get from the kitchen area to the balcony, but we managed.

This was a dedicated 1BR so maybe that helped?

I didn't realize the 1 bedrooms at VWL were small enough to have space problems at the end of the pull out. Never considered that at OKW, because there is the dinning room are that makes it seem larger. :jester:

Sorry, but I was SOOO amused by how hot everyone got about the recent debates about size on this forum, I couldn't resist a little "JOKE JOKE JOKE" ( to quote our now famous Minn. gov.)!

Oh no, Diane, you're not going to goad me into a retort! :smooth:

But I did want to say that I've noticed the cool smilies you've been using lately....very nice! :D

Welcome back!

We bought one of our VWL mugs the first year they started this program (95 or 96?) and the new mugs hold about 1/3 less than the original Aladdin brand mug.

Would that original mug be an OKW mug, by any chance? If so, your OKW would be about 25% larger than your new 16 oz VWL mug :p. JOKE, JOKE, JOKE!

The room we were in was on the pool side of the villas (woods view with a slight view of the pool to the left). It was a few doors down the long hall from the foyer area, and was not a corner unit.

Maybe all the "tiny room chat" I've read since my last VWL stay has altered my perception of reality---and the room just seemed bigger. ;)

Robin---I will have to scratch the decal from my lodge mug to see if there is a OKW logo underneath.
