My DH, DD (8), MIL, FIL and myself have a two-bedroom for 8/27 to 9/3. My nephew (19) has decided to come along :cool1: but I would like to make a change to my reservation since he's in a wheelchair. My question is, is it possible to get a two bedroom where the second bedroom is handicapped accessible, and if so, is it posbbile to get that room with two beds vs a bed and convertible? If it's not possible, are the bathrooms with the first bedroom large enough for a wheelchair? I guess I shouldn't really worry, since my nephew can get almost anywhere (lots of practice since he was paralyzed at the age of 2 1/2).

This is our first trip has members and I just want everyone to be comfortable.

Thanks for your help.

I was in a studio that was ha back in my it was attached to a 1bdroom that was also ha I'm not sure if they have dedicated ha 2 bdroom. The bathroom has a sliding door that is quite wide and a roll in shower with a seat that a regular room would not have. The room only had 1 bed and a pull out I slept on the pull out and it was quite comphy. I hope this help's.

We had a two-bedroom lockoff on the 1st floor last September that was handicapped (during hurricane Jeanne). I remember because we had a two-year-old with us that kept turning on all the stove buttons and grabbing the fire extinguisher that was down low (everything was down low for a wheelchair). Not to mention the studio part had the roll-in shower so we had to give the baby a bath in the whirlpool tub of the one bedroom side. Yes, VWL definitely has handicapped two bedrooms. ;)

The bathroom on the studio side definitely had lots of floor space for a wheelchair to get through the doorway. The sink didn't have a cabinet under it so you could roll a wheelchair up underneath it.

I don't know if there are any dedicated handicapped two bedroom units?
