The best I remember, they have a night latch type lock near the top but someone else might be better suited to answer this who may have used it

As I recall, this is the set up. Like all WDW balcony doors, nearly impossible to open on the first attempt.

It's a standard door lock (turn) with added security from a J hook from what I recall:

I moved my trip from Jambo at the end of September to Boulder Ridge (Yay!) in October, still considering sliding it into November, but doubt I'll find another VWL stay.

Sad to have moved it as I need the break, but life dictates September wasn't going to happen anyway.

And now more questions....

Is there a little step stool in the bathroom? We had one at the Grand Cali (hotel side, not villa) and wondered if they have these here too.

Also, is there a vacuum or broom in the studio villas? My son eats a very crumb-y evening snack and just wondering if I'll have a way to clean it each night. (On our last DL trip, I actually brought a very small hand vac but would be great if I didn't need to do that.)

No step stool (in any DVC villas that I've encountered) and I was shocked there was no broom or dust pan in our 2BR BRV in May. Every villa used to have a vacuum although those began being removed a few years ago but we've always had a broom and dust pan until that last stay. You should be able to request them I'd think.

Football is here; mornings in my area are starting out cooler; school has been going for three weeks; and it's about time to drag out those sweaters and jackets. And, any time now, I expect to see holiday decorations at Lowe's and Walmart. Just sayin'.

Its cooler here too, and Tammy is dehydrating some apples we picked up along the Blue Ridge Parkway with cinnamon sprinkled on them. So our house just smell like Fall. Im so ready for it!

Costco already started their Christmas decorations about 3 weeks ago! I think I'll browse around Lowes this weekend to see what they got! I have missed out on the snowman Mickeys & Minnies the past couple years and I'm determined this year to check them out as early as possible!

We have been getting Christmas books into the store for a few weeks now and our shipments have been heavier. Getting in a lot of books, toys and specialty items. So we are gonna be ready for everyone doing their Christmas shopping. I have already talked to people who have started already.

Are you in a mountainous region or just farther north? Or both?

I live in the Blue Ridge Mountains of southwest Virginia, and while we'll hit more 80s starting next week, we're in for low to mid-70s the next three days. But, by the end of the month, we'll definitely have much cooler days.

I'm in the PNW We get Summer for just about 60 days...some "heat waves" in late Spring/early Summer if we are lucky! LOL! But those 60 days are absolutely glorious, the most beautiful weather!

Ahhh. Yeah, I lived in Alaska for four years, and summers are way too short there. Heck, the weather we're having right now (mostly sunny, low 70s) would qualify for an awesome summer day in Anchorage.

Yeah 70s here is definitely considered summer! I won't complain though seeing all the crazy weather this whole summer on the east coast! Ooff.... It's been nothing but beautiful here since late June
