VWL Groupies & Lovers Thread (Special Collectors Edition 2.5) updated 2 February 2025

Hello everyone! Im a first-timer to VWL and can’t wait! We check into BR this Sunday. My DH and I are taking my in laws with us. I realized from this helpful thread that not all rooms have the Murphy bed, and we really prefer it. Should I make that request via online check in? Or, should I call DVC MS? Curious if one is more effective than the other? THANK YOU!!

It's only the 5th floor that doesn't have the Murphy beds in BRV. Maybe put in a request for any floor but the 5th. Or, if you arrive before you get the room ready text, stop at the FD to see if the room assigned is on the 5th floor. They most likely won't tell you the room number, but if there are any available rooms to swap, they will. If all else fails, the pull out sofas are new and you can request a topper for them.

We arrived at the WL around 2:00 PM yesterday. While walking in through the lobby doors is always awe inspiring, theand the beautiful decorations takes the magic and ambience up more than notch! Our room was ready! We’re in a 2BR on the 4th floor, not the one I requested (atrium), but it isn‘t a @KAT4DISNEY room either! Honestly, we’ve stayed in the dumpster view rooms several times as well! We have a view of the lake as well as the pool, and when we heard the MK fireworks I headed out to our balcony, and discovered we could see them! I don’t believe I have ever seen fireworks from here before. We toured the resort, had an early dinner, hung out in the lobby a bit where we chased our grandson around, and then headed up early. I love this room, and really enjoy the remodel. I know this is somewhat controversial, but I appreciate the lightened up feel. We’re heading to Cape May for breakfast, and then on to Epcot! Will post pics later!

Welcome to the Groupies! Your query has already been answered, so I'll just say we're glad you dropped in and hope that you'll keep checking back in and letting us know how your travels go. You might find after a time that you've become a regular here, and we'd love that! Have a great trip!

Sounds like a great start! I was planning on requesting an atrium room or the lake side for our 2024 trip, but then I read that the cabins are going to be refurbed in 2024. I guess I’ll wait and see how it goes before making my requests. (And this is all assuming i can get my res modified to a 2BR to begin with!)
Have a magical week. Our DGD loved the character interaction at Cape May and has requested to do it again!
P.S. She is sitting next to me right now, playing a Crayola coloring app on my phone (we had a sleepover) and the music includes a theme that sounds just like Horizons! I love that old Epcot music and listen to it all the time on YouTube.

Never realized there were no dedicated two bedrooms on the first floor! I just was reading through this thread and checked the room layout!! I had requested first floor, since there are three ECV’s in the room. Well, I just chatted and asked the request be removed! We need the two queens in the second bedroom!

We are decorating and put out this special Stacia Martin drawing. It was from a DVC MC …. I have so many DVC, VWL memories!

This year, my gals stay is in VWL, and then in January, Tom and I are in CC, inside the beautiful lodge. I’m as excited as a youngster! Meeting a Groupie, is anything better than that??

Dates..December 4-9…will go to the DVC meeting on Thursday.
January 23-27 at CC

Hello, fellow groupies. Remember me? I am sorry for not being on much. I'll try to make up for that in the future. We had a nice two-night vacation at Kidani during Thanksgiving. It's becoming a tradition. Had the Thanksgiving meal at Sanaa. Couldn't pass up the bread service! We'll be at VWL from Dec 3 to Dec 7 this year. This time around, Toni, Jesse and I will be joined by my eldest daughter, my granddaughter and my youngest daughter and her husband. Toni, Jesse and I plan on hitting the Condo meeting after we check out of VWL. Jesse is going to go to the MK one day with Toni, my eldest and my granddaughter. I'm going to hang out at the lodge this vacation. We only have one dinner reservation and that's at Whispering Canyon. Otherwise, we'll wing it. We still live a stones throw away from WL. I hope everybody has had a most wonderful year.

We could only get a room at CCV for Thanksgiving, but we spent the majority of our free time at VWL/BRV.
Little one loved the table game and we loved sitting by the fire in the railroad room.
Wilderness Lodge is my favorite WDW resort!

So I'm not staying at the Lodge this next trip sadly. When I was doing my ADR's I didn't make my usual one for WC because I figured I didn't want to have to worry about leaving the park so I made one for the Plaza instead. Now I'm second guessing myself and wondering if I'll regret not doing WC
Update. I went ahead and switched over to WC. I just think I'd regret it too much
