I own at BCV, but woudl liek to stay at VWL for a few nights if possible during my daughter's winter break each year, either before or after Christmas Day. (We will always want to be home for Christmas Day, got too many family near us. And WDW is only a day drive for us.)
I got lucky this year and was able to swicth my BCV ressie to VWL for a studio at the 7 month window. Was thsi incredible pure luck? I'm curious if I end up on the waitlist right at 7 months each year what the chances are it will coem through? I'm assuming the waitlist is in the order in which you called?

Thansk for any experiences!

IMHO you will run in to more problems getting a room after Christams than before. The week between Christmas and New Year's is packed at WDW. Next year should be especially crowded with Christmas and New Year's on a Saturday. Make sure to call right at the 7 month mark. For obvious reasons the VWL is popular around the holidays and with more and more new members joining every day, it will become more difficult to book once you get inside the 7 month window by even a few days for Christmas reservations.

As an owner I have never had to waitlist. We bought at the VWL specifically for Christmas visits.

JMHO -

I think BWC, BCV and VWL are all going to get harder to reserve at 7 month window. With SSR having DTD access but not direct park access, I think you will start competing with a much larger number of members for a small portion of rooms.

Just a thought

Can't you trade with a VWL owner and then book at the 11 month window?

Is it complicated? How woudl you recommend doing a trade? A vWL makes a ressie for us, we make a BCV ressie for them? I guess if there is a point difference we woudl just transfer the points over?

We coudln' both transfer. Liek my BCV points into their accounta and vice versa, correct?

I'm not quite sure how it all works.

Maybe someone here has done a trade or transfer and can tell us how it works.

If I'm reading this correctly I should go out and reserve a week at the 11 month window and then rent it for $13 per point.

If I'm reading what you typed correctly then that means you will be making it harder for fellow members to get a chance at booking VWL at 7 montsh out cause you will ahve rented to non members just to make that extra $3 per point off a rental? That stinks. Course, they are your poinst to do as you like! Mayeb I misunderstood?

I think doubletrouble is referring to the practices of other DISers and was speaking tongue in cheek.

Correct you can't do that. I did a trade with an owner of HH last year. He wanted to go to the BWV, I wanted to do HH at a busy time of year. I posted what I was looking for on the rent trade board and I received an e-mail from someone who owns HH but was interested in staying at the BWV. His reservation used a few more points than mine so we agreed to a cash price for the excess points, then we both made the reservation. It was simple and painless. I think a lot of people may want to try the BCV so you may want to give a trade a shot.
