I am planning a trip to VWL for April 2005. Right now there will be 5 adults and 2 children (ages 5 & 2). I am planning on reserving a 2-bedroom at the 11 month window, but have a question. There is a chance that my sister, bro-in-law and 11-month old niece will come for a few days. I did check with MS and was told that I could have everyone in the 2-bedroom, but just wanted to check on these boards for confirmation. I was told that they would not supply any extra beds (i.e. cots), but only a crib, if needed. I figured this would be fine because there is 1 king, a queen sleep sofa and 2 queen beds. Everyone would have a bed because my niece and nephew (5 & 2) could share the king bed w/me or use sleeping bags on cushions. I don't want to reserve another room (that would take extra points I don't have) because my sister is unable to commit this far in advance. She is about to have the baby that would be 11 months at the time of the trip and she also doesn't know what will be going on in her life at the time of the trip. I guess I'm just double checking what MS told me, would there be a problem if all of these people were in the 2-bedroom?? If everyone went, then there would be 7 adults, a 5-yr old, 2-yr old and 11 mth old. I just don't want to have any problems at reservation time!

Thanks!!!

You should be fine as far as the occupancy limits go. Technically, the 2 year old and infant can use the portable Pac 'n Play cribs and "don't count" towards the 8 total persons.

I am assuming you are OK with having that many people in the same unit - it would be way too crowded for me. I'm also assuming that you will reserve and get confirmed a dedicated 2 bedroom. Those do have two queen beds in the second bedroom. The others have 1 queen and a sleep sofa, which I believe is a double size.

Best wishes -

Thanks CarolMN - I don't think that my sister will come for too long, if she comes at all, so I can deal w/the crowd for a few days! Just wanted to make sure that they wouldn't be turned away!!

Thanks again.

You should be fine. There should be a pack-n-play in the unit for the baby. Be sure to request a dedicated 2 bed so that you will have enough beds for everyone. Have a great time!

MS has the only opinion that matters regarding occupancy limits. Since they don't have a problem with your plan, have a great time!

jarestel is right. If you are looking for "permission" on how many people in a particular accommodation, MS would be the right one to talk to.

If you're asking if it's doable, or too crowded, then that is personal opinion that you will find plenty of here. :p

7 adults, one five year old, and two children under 3 will be quite cramped. But I'm sure it can be done, though I wouldn't care to share a bed with a 5 and a 2 year old!!

I figured this would be fine because there is 1 king, a queen sleep sofa and 2 queen beds
Please note that there is only 2 queen beds in the DEDICATED 2BR's at VWL. Many of the 2BR's are lock-off's, and if so the second bedroom would have a queen bed and a queen sleep sofa. That might not matter to you, but as it stands you could have two couples sharing two pull out beds.

Hey, if it works for you, go for it! Way too crowded for us, but then again we get a 2BR for just the four of us!!

I can certainly understand your dilemna since the additional people are pretty iffy.

You are at the limit of 8, the two young ones do not count. As far as asking an MS they are not the ones to ask, unfortunately, it seems, from being on this board for years ,most of the MS do not care about limits of people in a room. I am not even sure if they know the limits. At any rate you seem to have solved the sleeping situation with the two little ones with you in the king. Have fun!!:D

Since the OP's question has been answered, and we do not allow discussion of occupancy on this board due to past heated discussions, this thread is now closed. Thank you.
