We are staying in a 1-bedroom villa at VWL this December. I have been over and over the photos and can't really discern the set-up from them, so was hoping somebody here would be able to shed some light on it for me!

We will be traveling with our 1 year old DS who will be going to bed earlier than us in a PNP each night. We want to put him down in the PNP in the master bedroom while the two of us enjoy a late snack, drinks, movie, etc. in the living room/kitchen. Here are my questions:

1. Is there a door to the master bedroom that shuts it off from the living room and kitchen area?
2. Is there a door between the bathroom and master bedroom?
3. Do all 1-bedroom villas have a tub? (Our son likes his bath at night.)

Thanks!

There is a door that shuts the master bedroom from the living room. There is no door that separates the master bedroom from the tub area of the master bathroom (plus there are shutters between the tub and the sleeping area). There is a door between the master bathroom sink and tub area and the other sink, shower and toilet.

This may sound harsh but the walk in closet off the bathroom in the master would also fit the pack and play and provide a quiet spot for sleeping. Just a suggestion but it may be the perfect spot.

Though implied in a PP's answer, let me tell you straight out that, yes, there is a tub in all 1BRs. It is a deep, jetted, jacuzzi-style tub, however. You should have no issues putting your DS down in the PnP in the master, shutting the door, then relaxing in the living area. Have fun! :thumbsup2

VWL is our home resort and we were there last thanksgiving with our baby who was 6.5 months old plus DS8 and DS16. We rented a crib from abbf.com and had enough room to put it between the master bed and the outside wall with the window. Because the toilet/shower section is separate from the tub/sink section it worked out fine. We opted for the crib over the pack n play to keep him up higher off the carpet and to give him an experience that's more like being at home. This succeeded on both accounts. Abbf will drop the crib at bell services around 6pm on your arrival day then on your last day you have the bellman pick it up and store it for abbf to come get it. Very painless.

The two older kids "shared" the hide a bed. Sharing is a relative term when considering our eight year old seems to make a full revolution during the night. But they both did ok.

Anyway with the pack and play being lower, the master bed will help block any stray light from the bathroom or opening/closing the door.

Here is a slide show that may help.

I don't think this sounds harsh at all. Our DS enjoys his peace and quiet while sleeping, so if the closet really is that large we may consider it. (We would open the door after we went to bed.) Is it closer to the living area, or kind of cordoned-off in the bathroom?

Thanks! I'm OK with the big tub, hoping DS will think it's neat! We are looking forward to it.

I would consider renting a crib, but DS has to sleep in a PNP every time we go visit family (which is often) or anytime we spend a weekend at the lake. Only one set of grandparents actually has a crib for him to use at their house. So I am hoping that by December he will be used to sleeping in one away from home, but we'll see. It's nice to know that can be an option if we determine he needs one!

Thank you so much! This was so great - now I am even more excited to stay here! This did help a lot. It looks to me like there is a smaller second bathroom that closes off from the main bathroom and bedroom? If so, that would be great for after he goes to bed.

No, there isn't a second smaller bathroom at VWL in a one bedroom villa. The bathroom is separated. Shower, pedestal sink and toilet in one part with a door separating it from the vanity sink and tub in the master bedroom. No door between the vanity sink and tub area from the master bedroom. Just the door to the master bedroom from the living area. Just one toilet, one shower, one tub, but two sinks.
