VT discussion.

Since tomorrow is the anniversary of Columbine, everyone is extra alert to anything going on at our school.
We've got some crazies, and probably so do some of your schools.

I watched the memorial service on TV. I stared crying as if i knew someone who got killed.

Me too, I may have not known them personally, but how can you not cry during a situation like this?

I kept watching the memorial service, with all the pictures and I was thinking "how many more can there be?" but pictures just kept coming and coming.

Oh wow, tomorrow is the anniversary of Columbine?

Yes I believe so...This is only 1 of a few tragic events that have happened around this time of the year.

The most recent story I have heard is that he was stalking the girl he murdered, and whne she didn't like him back was when he killed her. My mom said His grandmother was on the news today from Japan speaking of how she never liked him, how he was always a loner and quite weird ever since he was young. I don't think he was bullied, he was always just more of a loner.

This is just proof of how sad our world is.

People KILLILNG people for no apparent reason... except being famous.
I wouldn't do anything to be famous.
I bet it sucks to be famous.

Has any one herd this other than me

Chris Davids, a Virginia Tech student who graduated with Cho from Westfield High School in Chantilly, Va., in 2003, recalled that Cho almost never opened his mouth and would ignore attempts to strike up a conversation.
Once, in an English class, the teacher had the students read aloud and, when it was Cho’s turn, he just looked down in silence, Davids recalled in an interview with The Associated Press. Finally, after the teacher threatened to give him a failing grade for participation, Cho started to read in a strange, deep voice that sounded “like he had something in his mouth,” Davids said.
“As soon as he started reading, the whole class started laughing and pointing and saying, ‘Go back to China,’” Davids said.
Among Cho’s victims were Reema Samaha and Erin Peterson, who both graduated from Westfield High School last year. Police said it was not clear whether Cho singled them out.

‘The question mark kid’
Virginia Tech student Alison Heck said a suitemate of hers on campus found a mysterious question mark scrawled on the dry erase board on her door. The young woman went to the same high school as Cho. Cho once scrawled a question mark on the sign-in sheet on the first day of a literature class, and other students came to know him as “the question mark kid.”

See now I disgree with this statement in some cases.

This man wanted attention, he sent that tape to NBC {or w/e station} for a reason, he will now live on infamously forever, especially the words he spoke on that video.

I can't bring myself to watch the video of him. I've only read articles about it. The fact that he referenced the Columbine shooters is really chilling to me. It's like some kind of sick chain.

I'm a little sick after reading the CB thread of this. It looks like it's turning into a discussion about how our generation is just selfish and whatnot. I don't know what to say. I never understood how you could group an entire generation of kids into one category just because of shows like My Super Sweet 16. How could you turn something like this into that...just...ugh. There has always been bullying, there have always been self centered people, and there have always been people who snap like this. It's not a reflection of a so called self-centered generation, it's a reflection of how sick someone can be.

No.

Thats not how murderers work.

Had he wanted fame, he would've taken the chains off those doors and walked outside and turned himself in.

Had he wanted fame, he would've endured a months and months long trial, all teh while, plastered all over the news.

Had he wanted fame, he wouldn't have had to send anything out to NBC.

In sending out his thoughts on the matter, he was martyring himself. He made himself the victim. He didn't want fame for himself, but he wanted all of the world to know how (in his mind) evil everyone was. He said it in the video "you did this to me. I could've just disappeared, but no, now you're disappearing" or something like that. He spoke as a martyr, because he wanted to be a martyr. He believed that he had been wronged. He only wanted revenge.

Had he wanted fame, he would've allowed himself to be caught.

He hated everyone in the whole world, including himself. In his mind, if he was leaving, he was taking as many of us out as he could with him.

If a sane person did it, yes, you could say he wanted fame, but the extensive mental disorders upon disorders with issues upon his issues that this man possessed take all rational thinking out of it.

Ouch This whole thing angers me my dad had a friend whose father killed his sister and mother never killed anyone.
This man came from a nice family but as you can see was bullied around

Korea.

The person who said it to me said Japan...IDK, I don't know his life story.

Shelby, the way I had heard it from multiple people was he wanted to live on infamously, haunting all of us, the way you put things makes alot of sense to me. By being a matyr, your still looking to be remember though, and claiming to be a victim, it is going to get alot of attention whether it was the main purpose or a secondary one, or not one at all.

He's korean.

And I do understand what you're saying, and he has gained a lot of attention, but thats not necessarily what he wanted.

I read the Wiki article, and saw the thing about how faculty cant be armed, good idea, but try this. Just like fire extiguishers, have a break glass thing that sets off an alarm that gets the police swat whatever, and alerts everyone in the building. Also havea tracker on that emergency gun, so you know where the person is

The only person who knows if he wanted fame or not is dead. It is moot to argue it saying "it is" or "is not" what he wanted. Everything coming from anyone's mouth other than his own are assumptions.

Thank you. That's what I was going to say.

Cho wasn't really "bullied" physically, but people did laugh at him numerous times. He thought those people were evil and needed to be elimainated, he really believed in this.

He did refer to himself as "question mark". I dunno why.

I can't believe he actually sent a package in between shooting rampages. I mean, I can't even find words to discribe it.
