VT discussion.

The one thing that we have to remember is that this young man had so much hatred in his heart that he chose to do this incredibly horrible crime. But those of us that are here do not need to keep the hatred spreading. I agree that it is imparative for us to forgive the shooter. I pray for him, the victims, and for the friends and families that were affected by this act. One thing that I must say is that the only unforgivable sin is blasphemy and to not forgive will eat away at the soul.

with all due respect, my soul is none of your business.

and I'm not forgiving anyone.

just my opinion... call me religious but that's what I base my life on. In no way does this tradgedy not anger me but I really look for as much hope as I can. Sorry to offend.

He is just one messed up person.

I personally won't forgive him or pray for him. I will pray for his family, though. As well as everyone affected, especially the family and friends of the victims.

This is a horrific act... I can't imagine what it was like...

sparx in no way was I commenting on your soul. I sincerly apologize that you felt my statement was directed at you. I was speaking of people in general. I think I will sign off for the night!!!

Watching the video of him talk gave me chills.

I can't believe such a thing has happened. I don't blame anyone for it other than him himself. The school couldn't have done anything at all. I feel bad saying this, but the first shooting was just another murder. It happens sooften in our country, why shut down a whole school with over 30,000 people in it for what they thought was 2 murders. Noone could have predicted what would follow.

I do not have any feelings of sorrow for the killer. I do feel for all the students and professors he killed. Some had such wonderful lives ahead of them, and now nothing. It's terrible and I hate things like this.

VT is in more than 2 discussions everyday I hear, I could ramble forever about my feelings but I'll stop now.

The problem is, is that the first shooting wasn't just an everyday murder. It happened at a University. That's why it should of been locked down.

Yes, the first shooting was at a school. So something should have been done. Even if it was just that the students were immediately made aware of what happened.

But it's pointless talking about this now. People shouldn't live in "What if's".

Depends on what you mean by that.

Of course he was mentally challenged, you have to be to go on a killing rampage like that.

And he's had plenty of mental problems in the past.

But if you mean what I think you mean, then no he wasn't.

And murders don't happen at universities? It sucks, but they happen everywhere.

It is said that he wrote very disturbing poetry and essays, his english professor recommended him to a shrink but he refused. And since it is college, they can't tell your parents, and what not. It's fully up to the student. HE may have had some psychological problems, which is the best guess right now, but theres no way of being sure. But then again I think most people are clinically insane if they commit such a crime.

Actually past reports by doctors said he was a threat to himself and others.

So they knew he was messed up, they just chose to ignore it.

And I know what you mean Lauren, but still the students should have at least been informed.

Oh yes, informed of a murder, and I'm sure it was a work in progress, they figured the killer had fled, and everyone was up to their necks dealing with the murders. I mean you can;t necessarily lock down a university that size for what may have been another regular everyday murder.

I had not heard that he was considered a threat in the past....Then again I wouldn't necessarily say he was ignored, but gosh I don't even know how to explain it, but we talked about it in psychology. They can't hospitalize you or arrest you b/c you MAY be a threat to yourself, they can only do that if there is physical evidence that you are a threat.
There are tons of people with schziophrena that are threats to themselves living on the streets in boxes, but can't b hospitalized and taken care of until they basically prove they are mentally ill.

Oh, I thought he was, but I didn't want to make some big speech with inaccurate information.
As horrible as it is, and I don't forgive him or anything, but I think his mind was full of problems and thoughts that none of us can even begin to comprehend.

Yeah, I heard about it in the news. Reports that were released today or something. I dunno what they could have done about it.

Ignored? What do you mean? I'm pretty sure he was a loner with no friends, and thought everyone hated him. So he decided to seek revenge. And ended up killing 32 people.

I think he was aiming to kill more, with all the ammunition that was in his vest.

Oh Jenny, I ment ignored by doctors in the fact that he was a threat, I ment he wasn't necessairly ignored by them.

By his peers, he was a loner. I'm gratful he didn't kill more. This is what I hate about America, he could buy those two guns and all that ammuition, for hardly any money, I read the ammunition and the second gun only cost him about $571, now THAT is Scary.

Oh Lauren, I suppose he was ignored by his doctors. :p

WOW, I would think it would be a lot more than that. But I have been gun shopping in a while :upsidedow

And of course I'm grateful he didn't kill more. He said in the video that Dylan (Columbine shooter) was weak because he killed only 13 people.

What a sicko.

Yah I would have thought alot more too, today during class I was reading the article on my phone that said that, My jaw dropped I couldn't beleive it was so cheap. I have that much money, but that is something I would NEVER spend it on.

Only 13? only 13? gosh 13 is alot! 32 is even more! It's insane. It scares me.

Yeah, if I wanted that stuff I'd have plenty of money to pay for it. But like I said, it's been a while since I've been gun shopping :p

Like I said before, the dude was messed up.
