Gosh april is a crappy month. So many sad anniversaries, Titanic, Columbine, Oklahoma bombing, and now the VT massacre.

I think next april I'm going to go to a country where they don't believe in april.

I can't bring myself to watch the video of him. I've only read articles about it. The fact that he referenced the Columbine shooters is really chilling to me. It's like some kind of sick chain.

I'm a little sick after reading the CB thread of this. It looks like it's turning into a discussion about how our generation is just selfish and whatnot. I don't know what to say. I never understood how you could group an entire generation of kids into one category just because of shows like My Super Sweet 16. How could you turn something like this into that...just...ugh. There has always been bullying, there have always been self centered people, and there have always been people who snap like this. It's not a reflection of a so called self-centered generation, it's a reflection of how sick someone can be.

how does this have ANYTHING with our generation being self centered?? just because they didn't talk to him or something? thats' a little overexagurate. i don't get talked to all the time. that most certainly does NOT mean i'm gonna go out and kill them. this guy was messed up. that's for sure. and we almost have to say that it's a incident that almost can never be duplicated. although i'm sure it will be since some other kid will probably see this guy as a hero.

and jenny. the doctors' DID NOT ignore him. what in the world were they supposed to do? you can't just like take someone by the hands, drag them to therapy, and be done with it. thats' now how it's done. they knew about his problem. but they couldn't do anything. they wanted to, but they couldn't.

why does he need to be forgiven? he knew what he was doing. he left 33 people dead he can't just be forgiven for that. He specifically said
"I didn't have to do this. I could have left. I could have fled. But no, I will no longer run." He knew what he was doing. I know a lot of people will disagree with me, but I'm kinda stubborn. I won't forgive Hitler, or the 9/11 attackers, and I won't forgive him either, not until I hear a reason that I believe in.

I haven't watched any news on it since the candlelight vigel (sp?), but to me, it seems a little odd that he would do such a thing. Yes, his writings were horrific, but what triggered this emotion?
Most people who have gone to school with him, roomed with him, etc have said that he wasn't bullied, was awfully quiet. Two of his roommates said they only actually had a full conversation once with him.

I refuse to pray for the shooter. However, I will pray for his family. This was premeditated. He knew what he was doing, and he knew why he was doing it. He refused to get therapy, and he knew was "mentally ill".

I've heard that he caused the shooting because of an ex-girlfriend and because of being bullied. I do not know if this IS the cause, but neither of them are an explanation for killing innocent people.

I don't think I'm going to watch the video. Maybe. But I don't think so.
At first I was understanding why the shooter would do this, mostly because I assumed he was teased, bullied, all of that. That triggers people, obviously. Some people are teated like dirt for a long time, then wham. Something bad happens.
But it was a shock to see that he wasn't bullied. That's confusing. Although he knew what he was doing wrong, it wasn't just random. He knew the consequences.
What a sad thing.

The kid sounded like a guy looking for attention after his death because he felt a lack of it... maybe.

I keep on opening the page with his manifesto, but I don't know if I'll end up watching it.

He also said he felt the need to get rid of the weak. How more Neitzsche and Sumner do you get? He felt the students were weak and that he needed to save the world by ridding it of them...
