HI Ladies,

Can I please join. I am doing a VR at sea About Dec 17 2006 Depending on the price and time they set sail.

I was going to do it at the world but we choose a cruise becasue of the kids we have and friend we have going with us and plus the cost factor is cheaper :)

If anyone has done a wedding or VR at sea can you please speak up as I would love to get some details.

Thanks everyone :)

Kim

OK here I go :)

DId you do it on the boat or did they let you do i on the beach. Also I have heard that you can not ake your flowers off the boat?

Next how many are you allowed to have at the vr. I know on land it is like 8 people.

After wards the cake and drink what is the limit also and if I bring a friend on the ship can she take my photos during it.

Also if we can not get married at the beach as we get off the boat and get wedding pictures taken there anyways.

I think that is all I have for now.

Also can we board the ship earlier than others becsaue of the wedding?

thanks,
Kim

Hi there,

No sure if you are planning a wedding or VR as your message contains both!

Anyway, I will answer your questions in regard to VR.

We had our VR in the Cadillac Lounge on board. weddings take place on the beach, they are very strict on where it takes place. The flowers, well mine were not lasting well, so on the last night of the cruise, we stood on our verandah and threw the roses, bud by bud into the wind whilst sailing! Ah....real romantic it was.

You can have as many as you like at the ceremony, there were 11 of us!

If I remember right, the cake is enough for 8 (but it is huge and plenty of it), if there are more than eight they charge a nominal sum for the extras. Yes your friend can take photo's, we had the ships photographer do ours but our nephew did the video. Same goes for the drink. If you want the bar open so your guests can purchase their own drinks you have to pay an hourly rate for the staff - which I think is awful - so we did not have the bar open just had an extra bottle of champagne ordered.

The ceremony is the day that the ship is docked at Nassau, at about 5pm. Something else they are very strict on,.

We were not offered the opportunity to board before everyone else, so we took a cab there to get there early, but honestly, there is no need. I didn't believe DCL when they said there was no rush to get there, but honest, there is plenty of time to sort things out with your co-ordinator once you board.

Any more questions feel free to fire away. I have some photo's I can share with you if you wish. You can email me if you like.

Have fun planning!

Rosemary
