VR Brides - Hair piece?

Are you doing a veil?? I hadn't planned on wearing a veil, because i was trying to stear away from being too wedding-y. I was just going to do the tiara. But now i'm rethinking the tiara!! Dh rolled his eyes and said lots of bad things. Something along the lines of stupid and acting my age.

I found a tiara that i thought wasn't too princess-y, but now he has me doubting myself.

But then i also saw this beautiful comb.

Would that be better, a bit more age apprioate? I have no idea how long my hair will be next Dec, but i plan on wearing it down.

I like the tiara. It is not over the top and it is not simple. I think you should go with your gut instinct and he will find you beautiful no matter what.

I like the tiara you have picked.. I dont get the act your age thing.lol IF it is what you want then go for it.. he may be like that now but wait till he sees you in it.. If you want a comprmise try one of the combs that are tiaraish...( is that a word ??LOL)

I've thought of trying to find quite a few of those mickey crystal bobby pins to use. I'll have to keep looking into it!

Flowers are an option if I could find something to work with my vision of a bouquet, Calla lilies, Tulips and Roses.

I think you should wear the tiara. I was thinking about it also. It is your VR wear what you want. The one you chose is not overdoing it, it is elegant and pretty. I am sure your dh will think you look amazing that day anyway!

DH and I are planning a VR for June and I am planning on using the tiara I used in my wedding. I thought that I should use something from my wedding, somehow, and I love my tiara.

my veil was actually a comb a lot like the one you posted.. the veil part just looped into the teeth of the comb

I've been thinking this same thing. I hadn't decided what I was going to do, but didn't really want a veil, thinking I did that 25 years ago. I was thinking a tiara just cause it's Disney, but then I might just do flowers like Cheryl did. I don't know!!! And it's only one month til my VR!!!

I will be 49 when we get married this November and I don't think I am too old to wear a tiara. This is my first wedding, not a VR but I do not think age has anything to do with it.

Just wanted to chime in and say that the comb you found is very very beautiful. Combs IMO look slightly more mature than tiaras. You should argue that you're not trying to look princess-y but rather like a queen. XD

Can I ask where you found that comb? I still need to shop for my tiara/comb/hair jewelry and I can't figure out where to start hehe.

Actually the comb and tiara are both from David's bridal.

kind of OT (sshhh! Don't tell) but do you think you will be renting points for 12/09?? i need about 100 or so for AKV.

You're NEVER to old for a tiara or tiara comb! Both the tiara and the comb you selected are beautiful. The only question is which one makes you feel the most beautiful when you see yourself in the mirror. That's the one!

You might want to check out etsy for other tiaras, combs and hairpins - they have them in a variety of price ranges and styles.

For our VR, I wore a tiara and a veil! It made me feel like a bride, and I felt magical in them. I almost talked my self out of the veil and I'm so glad I didn't!
Life doesn't give us enough opportunities to wear tiaras, so I say go with the ones you get!
