Vow Renewals

Been reading all the entries about getting married at Disney World but haven't seen a lot about vow renewals. Been tossing about the idea for several years and really want to do it in the future, but would love to hear comments/stories from couples that did their vow renewals at WDW. How was the planning stage, helpfulness of the wedding WDW consultants, your ceremony itself, etc. Was it worth the cost (to me anything involving Disney is worth the cost! lol) and were you able to stay within what you wanted to spend? Would love to hear from you and see pics if possible! Did you stay totally with Disney or did you have some outside help (like photographer, etc). Sorry about all the questions, but like I said...I've been tossing the idea around and researching for quite some time but would really like to hear from those of you that have had their vow renewal ceremony at WDW. Any special things that you did that made your ceremony just that much more special, have your pictures taken in any of the WDW venues????? Questions....questions....questions! lol Thank you so much for your patience and for your comments!

For Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings, vow renewals are treated the same with the exception that you have to provide a copy of your marriage certificate/license. Costs, planning, etc... are the same. You can go with Wishes or Escape depending on your guest count and budget. So any planning journals you read would be basically the same regardless of it being a wedding or a Vow Renewal.

There are several threads on here for VR's though. I will try to look more this evening and post some links if no one else beats me to it.

Desnik recently did a VR. Janet2K did one, but she is no longer with us so I don't know if her journal got deleted or not. Carol Anne had one last fall. Several couples have also done VRs on the cruises and you can find their info on the thread in this forum for Disney Cruise brides.

I would just look under some of the completed journals and see who did VRs. But like I said, pricing, and everything is really the same as a wedding.

DH and I did a VR last summer. It was too expensive for us to do it thru Disney Weddings, so we had the ceremony at Leu Gardens (beautiful!!!) and a brunch "reception" at Ohana. We took pictures at the Poly so I still felt like it was a Disney VR, just A LOT less expensive! If I could figure out how to post pictures I would, but I'm not technically inclined, so I'm not sure how.

Where is Leu Gardens? Never heard of that place. I'm also looking at the vow renewal on the DCL. Just wanting to hear from those who have had their vow renewal thru Disney. Thanks for your time in letting me know about your experience!!!

We had our VR Nov. 2009. It was beautiful and we are so glad we did it! It was a Wishes event and it was everything we wanted and more! There is a link in my signature to my trip report(in that there is a link to my planning journal too). You can also see pictures there.

DH wants to do it again but next time more intimate, an Escape with just us and our 2 kids. We are planning for 2012!!! I have to tell you as a couple and being together for so long(16 years) and going through all our ups and downs, the vow renewal was so special in ways I can't even describe. Then to have our children there to witness our renewal was just priceless!
