Congratulations to your parents!!

First, you want to visit the Disney weddings website there is information there about both the intimate and custom packages (with Disney, there really is no difference between weddings and vow renewals, except the license). There is also a phone number to call and get the process started.

Unfortunately, I don't think you'll be able to do the renewal at Sunset Pointe (at the Polynesian) in August. Just recently, Disney has stopped doing weddings/renewals there during the summer months because it is just too hot and there is no shade. Also, at Sunset Pointe, you are limited to 10 guests (including the bride and groom). But there are several other lovely locations (like the Wedding Pavilion, which is at the Grand Floridian) that you can choose from.

Whichever wedding/renewal package you choose will include a wedding cake, among other things. All the details are on the website...and you can come back here if something doesn't make sense.

I hope I didn't put you off or anything!

It's just that the easiest place to start is at the website...and since the packages change a little every now and then, it's usually safest to start there since it is *usually* pretty up to date. I know since my wedding last year, things have already changed.

Definitely give Disney a call to get the ball rolling...and check out some of the other threads to learn other tips from other brides as well!

First of all, congrats to your whole family on your parents long and happy marriage!

A vow renewal would be such a special way to commemorate the day. Is there a special reason you want the Poly? If so, they may be able to accommodate you at an indoor location.

How many people will there be? Are you looking for a weekend or a weekday? What time of day?

Dinner at Ohana would be fun or you can also organize dinner on the beach.

With Disney, the sky is the limit - really! If you do the vow renewal at the wedding pavillion, you can have your own private fireworks!

Pixie dust,

Susy
