What are the dining vouchers? I've seen quite a few threads where they are mentioned, but I don't know what they are. I've been to WDW many times, but never used or heard about anything like this. Also, besides what are they, where do you get them? Thanks!

Thank you! i was wondering the same thing.....after reading all that info,,,,i seems like a lot of work for not really much of a deal???

The Q&C vouchers seem to be a good deal at places like Beaches and Cream, Tangerine Cafe and the Pepper Market. The breakfast vouchers seem to be not to bad at the character meals because they include tax and tips.

I think most people like to get them because it gives them the ability to pre-pay for some of their meals ahead of time.

There are three types of vouchers:
Breakfast: good for any sitdown breakfast including the character meals (not at Swan/Dolphin) and these are 18.75
quick&casual: these are good for almost all the counter service restaurants at the parks(except some carts) and many of the food courts in resorts. Good for one entree, side, drink, dessert for 11.50
Kingdom luncheon: good for sit-down restaurants in parks/resorts but only for lunch. They are 30.00 we do not usually have a big lunch so these were not for us. They are for lunch only at one of the sit-downs in WDW.
We have used the breakfast and q&c and love them. Nice to have some meals pre-paid. CM know about them and you don't have any problems using them. They also include tax and gratuity so they are good deal in that respect.
We were Connections members (yearly membership was $79.00) and always had great service from them; although others have had issues. If you join for a trial $1/one month, make sure you cancel on time or they will charge you for the year. You can buy up to 40 of each kind of voucher per year. They increased the yearly fee significantly ($139/yr) so I did not rejoin. We have seen people selling these vouchers for WAY over value at e-bay. I don't recommend that. Floridaorlandotickets.com now sells these at a higher price than connections but they are the same vouchers; Hotwiresavingsclub.com (got to Hotwire.com and there is a link) sells them at the same price as connections. There is no fee with Floridaornadotickets.com and Hotwire has a $1 trial monthly membership. WE DO LOVE HAVING THESE AND used 6 BREAKFAST AND 12 Q& C TO USE FOR OUR 12/28-1/02/04 TRIP. Just joined hotwiresavings.com and received the q&c and breakfast vouchers already for our December 04 trip.

I guess the ratio of work: savings depends on how much you like to save $$$! some q/c ( most ) save probably $2-5 per voucher( some more ,some less) the vkl more ( we saved 10-40 per voucher) but it depends on where you go, what you eat( we always eat our large meal of the day at lunch at WDW so they really saved us). the breakfast imo only help for character meals and then savings are about the same as q/c.

the work invovled imo is minimal...10 mins to join hotwire( free for 1 month which is plenty of time to get the vouchers, just don't join till you are ready to order) and 5 mins to order them. we knew before hand( by looking at the www.allearsnet.com menus) where we planned on using them and so scheduled our day to be in that area around that time so using them was easy. I ordered only enough to use where we thought they would save us money so it was pretty much a no brainer and we willl use them again( more this time)

I have a question? Where can I sell mine I have 9 and I just want to get my money out of them, not make a profit. I hate to sell them, but we aren't going to be able to get back to Disney before they expire in May 2005. Any advice?

Do they still honor them even after the expiry date?

For our recent WDW trip, a first for DD and me, I got some Q&C and Feature Breakfast vouchers. With both, I at least broke even although at several of the counter service restaurants listed for the Q&C there are very limited dessert options (only one for Pecos Bills and 2 at Cosmic Rays). If you don't get the dessert, I don't think you're as likely to save money. The breakfast vouchers seemed to work best for us... but we didn't use 2 because I discovered my DD wasn't ready for quite so many character meals (:)) and the other options for those vouchers were not a good deal.

I have to admit that when I was researching for the trip, the vouchers really seemed like a great idea. The reality, though, was that I found the Q&C especially weren't as good a deal as I'd expected. Partly, I think this was because I just wasn't that hungry due to the heat and humidity and partly because what sounded good when I researched restaurant menus and prices wasn't what sounded good when I was ready to eat - and often what did sound good wasn't high enough priced to make using the voucher worthwhile.

If I had it to do again, I'd have bought only half as many as I did. It was definitely nice to have the prepaid meals but it almost felt like an obligation to use them to best advantage (I came home with 1 q&c and 2 breakfast). Also, because they aren't accepted at all counter service restaurants, I probably missed some good food choices that would have been more appealing to me at the time. Oh well, I don't regret getting them as it was definitely something I think you need to try for yourself to see if it is worth doing again.

100%Disney - some people have sold them on DISauctions. Unfortunately, I think that part of the site is down right now. I have seen a couple of threads on the budget board where people are looking for some to buy and others say they have extras. After that, I believe it is all transacted privately through PM or email due to the DIS policy against selling from the boards. I think they relaxed the policy enough to allow the basic exchange of information seen in those posts because the auction site isn't working.

Hi, I recently began a thread on this topic. There is already a huge post on where and cost of vouchers on the Budget board as someone already posted the link.

A link to my current post here is:

I have found that for my family, the vouchers have saved us a lot of money as well as other folks that have posted. You need to check out all the particulars for you and your family.

We find that we can share so many meals and when you get so many items with just one voucher...we come out waaay ahead.

Happy planning,
Esmerelda
