:teeth: We are home from a great trip! I had bought 8 quick and casual vouchers, 4 Adult and 2 child breakfast vouchers, 2 adult and 2 child vacation kingdom lunch vouchers from Hot wire.

These were so easy to use and were really a great deal.

We used the breakfast ones at Cinderella's breakfast. What a special meal that is! The princesses were so sweet to my DD, she was just in heaven. They even had a Birthday card for her that they all signed. Our server just took the vouchers and that was all we had to do.

We used the lunch vouchers at Rainforest Cafe in Animal Kingdom. This meal was just, I don't even know how to put it into words, we ate and ate and ate! Our server encouraged us to order everything! We had 2 Adult and 2 Child vouchers. We got (App) chicken strips, cheese sticks, hot wings, quesadillas(sp?). Then 2 orders of Steak and Lobster, 1 order of Steak and Shrimp, 1 Chicken combo platter. 1 volcano, 1 cheese cake and 1 apple crisp. 4 sodas in the tall glasses. Our total would have been about $180 plus tax and tip. What a deal!

So they let the kids order off the adult menu at RFC using their children's voucher? That's great! I hope we get the server you had! :D

This sounds like a great idea. I went to hotwire.com and could not initially find anything on vouchers. Could you help me out a little?
TIA (thanks in advance)

We used the $30.50 adult vouchers and the children's vouchers were 12 I think. They did allow the kids to order off the adult menu, but I don't know if that happens every time. Our server went and asked before we ordered and returned to encourage us to order the more expensive meals, even suggesting upgrading the steak and adding on shrimp. To get the volcano we needed to use 2 vouchers dessert portion. It was a REALLY big dessert!

I also cancelled my hot wire membership last night, and they were very nice about it, no pressure at all. I considered keeping it, but we need to buy together were better vouchers to help support our school, and the programs are too similar to do both.

I had not even considered buying the vouchers, but it sounds like it worked out for you.... Is there a minimum number of vouchers that you have to buy?? Other than our bkfst at CRT and our dinner with Chef Mickey, we have no other "definite" plans. Do they take the vouchers for the FDP?? We do have that booked. I'm just so afraid we would end up with a pocket full of unused vouchers. Is there somewhere at the Hotwire site where it lists the restaurants where you can use these? Thanks for any help.... Happy Thanksgiving!

westjones,
Yes, those are the same vouchers but very overpriced on that link you provided. You can get the Quick and Casual lunch vouchers for $11.25 each through Hotwire Savings Club, Connections or Lillian Vernon. Yes, you have to join one of these clubs, but there's a free 30-day trial period and you can cancel after ordering and receiving your vouchers.
:D

Has anyone used these vouchers at the Princess Storybook breakfast? I seem to remember not seeing it listed under breakfast vouchers in one place and then did see it on another list. I have PS for this breakfast in Feb. Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm just curious but did you all eat all that food? I can't imagine ordering it all just because you got a good deal but I also could not imagine eating all of that food. An equivalent of $180 of food seems like enough to feed an army.

the budget board list is the same that is on the current vouchers and my BV does list the story book break. ( from hot wire) so I do not see how they could not honor it

Hot wire was great btw and I would have no problem using them again. no mininum ( bought 2 q/c the first time just tot be sure I got them ok) just a max of 40 per year.

can't figure out what "fdp" is except family dental plan and I am pretty sure that is wrong..It does list GF, CRT, Story book, resta.saurous, cape may, chef mickey, ohana,Cp, for breakfast buffets and I think most of them have Characters (?) plus a bunch of places that do not have characters. ( reading the back of the voucher)

FDP = Fantasmic Dinner Package. No, you cannot use the vouchers for the FDP for a couple of reasons. Firstly, it is a prepaid "package" deal where you pay for your meal when you make the package reservation so you cannot then use a voucher when you eat. Secondly, the vouchers that can be used at sit-down restaurants are only for breakfast and lunch and the FDP is a dinner package so the vouchers aren't applicable.

We always go to at least 4 character breakfasts during our trip and hit Beaches & Cream at least once. So we buy vouchers for all of these meals and a couple of extra Q&C vouchers for another counter-service meal during our trip. If you pay attention to what you are ordering, you should have no problem at least getting the "face value" of the vouchers and in many cases you can save quite a bit.

Skiwee,

When we were in the World in Sept/Oct 2003, we kept track of all of our expenses. For our Q and C Voucher meals, we kept track not only of what we ordered and how much saved, but we also kept track of what we *would* have ordered without the vouchers. The details are in my post at the top of the Budget Board (Everything you wanted to know about connections vouchers-- Page 2). At Beaches and Cream, we could not eat all the food, and the 3/4 of the desserts were wasted (couldn't bring them back to the room b/c they were ice cream). But we still spent less with the vouchers than we would have without them. At the Sand Trap Bar and Grill, we could not eat even half our meals, but were able to bring them back to the room to eat the next day. We did manage to eat all our food at Pepper Market, but were quite hungry. At theme parks, we either split a meal or waited until we were very hungry and then were so full that we didn't eat anything else until dinner.

So for us, the vouchers worked out very well.

Beatnik

For anyone interested, we just got back & used vouchers as well. We have one remaining Quick & Casual Voucher for 11.50 if anyone is interested! We ate at the Pepper Market & Beaches & Cream, as well as had breakfast at the Beach Club!

The breakfast vouchers will work for the Princess breakfast. I gave them to our server when we sat down and she said everything was covered.

We also just got back from the world on Dec. 1, and we used breakfast vouchers at 3 different times (Cinderella's, O'hana's & Chef Mickey's). It was really easy to use. We just handed them to the server and it was all taken care of. We also used quick and casuals and VKL. With the Q&C we ate at Flaming Tree BarBQue, Beaches and Cream and Pizza Planet and I always came out ahead. We used the VKL at Rainforest Cafe. My son was able to order off of the adult menu with his child voucher. It really worked out well. What was really great was that we never had to figure in tax and tip because it was all included. I would definitely order them again for the next trip.
::yes:: :wave2:

are the htowiresavingsclub.com meal certifiactes the same as the ones from connections? JUst trying to get a good idea of what restaurants they are good for. Thanks

Could someone post a link to Hotwire Savings Club please! I can't seem to find it. Also, will they ship to Canada?
