I am trying to weigh the odds of purchasing a one day ticket for later on with my free dining package, and upgrading my voucher to an 8day park pass w/WP&M. Since we won't arrive until 9/30, do you think that a potential price increase will put a wrench in my thinking. Right now the tickets are included in the package at current prices?

If you have a package with tickets on it, even if there is a general price increase the price for the tickets (and package) will not change unless you make a change to the package after the rate change.

The GAD ticket is not worth $79 (or $68 for ages 3-9). It is worth the value of a one day ticket, which is currently $79/$68. If there is a ticket price increase, the value of the one day ticket will go up and therefore the value of the GAD ticket will go up.

(How's that for Disney math-speak?)

I totally understand what you are saying, but I guess I can't get across what I want to say, so I will try again. Right now I have a package with 7 day MYW tickets at just over $1,000.00. If I change the reservation to one day it is approx $240.00. (But I don't care about that money as these tickets will be used at a later date). Do you think a price increase will be substantial enough that the voucher credit will not make up for the difference...

Has there ever been a really large increase. (Yes I know the averages are somewhere on the boards or over at MouseSavers or Allears, but seriously, I have been battling migraines and the searches are killing me) I really appreciate the insight.

I think the ability to hold the tickets for future use is a great idea as prices never go down, but I would hate for my luck to be the year the prices increased more than ever before:scared1:.

not going to happen, especially this year. If there is an increase, you will still only py the increase over what you would have had to pay were you to lock it in today on the difference between the single day and the upgrade, ie: let's say a 1 day base ticket goes up to $83 (about 5%) and then a 7 day ph wpf&m pass goes up to $355 (also about 5%), you would pay $272 to upgrade. If you were to upgrade to day from the $79 to the $338, you'd pay $259 to upgrade , so it will cost you max $13 more to do this in sept than to lock it in now...but remember, we're assuming a 5% increase betwen now an September, which is just not going to happen!!

I'm not really sure it matters whether the price goes up or not.

If you USE the 1-day ticket first, and THEN upgrade it, then the credit amount should be that of the current gate price of a 1-day, not the price paid for it - even if it was paid for in a package.
