Anyone not voting at all ??? Today is the last day to register in our state & I haven't registered yet, probably won't.

Well, I guess I still have a few hours to change my mind, but the whole process is sickening, wish there were a better way :-)

Today is the last day to register in our state & I have decided not to register at all - they all make me so sick, none of them are even worth standing in line for, can't wait til its over

There will not be a better way until American Citizens stand up and Vote for one!

It is up to you... but I look at it as a privilege. One too many men and women have died to give you.

Jenn - I edited my original post to not sound so harsh, I do understand what you are saying though :thumbsup2

I understand your position completely, but I would also gently encourage you to register anyway. At least that way if you change your mind and want to vote, you can. Registering does not mean you have to vote, just that you have the right to.

I also understand about not finding a candidate to your liking. Without telling you who to vote for, I would suggest that you search your heart for at least one thing that really means something to you and pick the candidate that supports your position on that issue.

I can't stress enough how important I think it is that people vote, even if it's only for one issue, it still counts. Besides, I always say if you don't vote, you can't b*tch, and I will never surrender my right to b*tch about things I think are wrong :flower3:

Does it really matter if we vote, isn't it all based on the electoral college anyway ???

I didn't think it was harsh... It is your opinion and you are entitled to it! :thumbsup2 One more of those things that too many men/women died for!

I say that all the time! :thumbsup2

Even if you don't want to vote in the Presidential race, what about your local ballot issues? Don't you care about how your taxes are spent, and who your local officials are?

All politics is local in the end, and local issues are where your vote matters most of all. Please register.

The Electors for your jurisdiction vote the way that their jurisdiction votes. The outcome is NOT predetermined before Election Day. Your vote does matter.

One other note: If you are not registering in an attempt to avoid jury duty, it won't help. These days most jurisdictions take their jury pools from property tax rolls and drivers' license lists.

I feel that it is your duty as an American to vote. If you don't, don't come crying to me about anything. Your vote matters for so many things. Again, it is your patriotic duty to vote.

Taxes, don't even get me started on Taxes, oy - veyyy. We pay $500 - $600 a month for what I'm not sure, our kids are in private school & our roads are a mess :rotfl2:

Shortbun, I ain't a crying :rotfl2: although we do have high taxes in our area, don't think that would matter either way though. I guess in my 45 years of living I don't feel like the President (no matter what party) has really affected me in any way

If you don't vote then you have no right to complain.

I don't like either candidate. I don't support either candidate. I will be voting for a President though. I can't imagine not voting. We are blessed to be in a country that has fought hard to be able to elect our President and Congress. Granted, half the time I want to fire them but I will always excersize my right to vote. There are millions around the world that do not have that freedom.

Everyone has a right to complain. Freedom of speech, you know. ;)

I'm not registered to vote. It was against my religion growing up, so I never registered. I was thinking of registering this year. Btw, I never, ever complain about politics. I never have. It doesn't interest me enough to complain about it. Sad maybe, but true.

My bf, however, is very much into politics. He watches all the debates and everything...and he still never votes. And he complains constantly. I keep telling him to vote, but he says it doesn't matter who he votes for, he already knows who's going to win for our state. So I guess that's that.

Most places have a long ballot this November -- we have president, senate, congressman, governor, other council of state offices, county commissioners (they set our local tax rates), school board members, judges. Is there really no one in all the offices on your ballot that you want to vote for? I can't imagine not voting.

Are you really 45 and have never voted?

I read somewhere recently that ONLY 50% of eligiable Americans do Vote.

TarHeel - yes, I have never voted, my days are busy and I hate lines, and I figure it really doesn't matter much anyway.

I guess if they had a FastPass for Voting I may do it, or be able to vote over the internet, those may change my stance on voting :thumbsup2

It's called early voting or voting though absentee ballot. So many options other than than the one day a year people think they have to stand in lines and wait wait wait.

Be careful! Absentee Ballots are ONLY for voters who will be far way from their Voting Place on Election day (something like more than 250 miles). Voting Absentee & being home that day is Illegal!:scared1:

Although I dont know how THEY willl ever know.
