It'll stay. They invested way too much to have it for just one year.

It'll be staying - It's a permanent addition & a good one to boot! :flower:

Yes. Probably were going to put it in WDW anyway, and the year they honor DL in Cal. is a good time in intro it.

What the heck is HCOE?

Happiest Celebration on Earth.

I'm sure they put alot of money into construction, it's not going anywhere.

soarin is definately staying I think they will change the movie so it not soarin over cali. :cool1:

I agree, it was too costly of an addition to the Land Pavilion to just be temporary. I'd be willing to bet there is probably a new movie already in the works though.

Soarin' across Florida
Soarin' across the USA
Soarin' around the World from each WDW park to the next

It was always meant to be a permanent addition to The Land. It was never looked at as only an 18-month thing.

I thought I read in the Unofficial Guide a new movie was planned for Epcot's 25th Anniversary (2007) ?

Yeah I read that too, in the Unofficial Guide. I think it would really be great if they made a new movie for it in 2007. Although I haven't seen the original California film, I will when we head out there in January '06.

It'd be nice to update the attraction. The Unofficial Guide said that it'll most likely be a flight around the world, which would tie in perfectly with the Epcot theme. I think just the fact that they named it "Soarin'" and not "Soarin' Over California" like the DCA original is an indication that it'll have a new film some day.

I'm also hoping that making a new film for it is an easy process, and will lead to the creation of a new film for Star Tours.

It's a great ride and it cost millions and weighs tons! It'll be staying right there for years. I wouldn't be surprised if maybe someday it gets a new movie that is different from DL, though.

But are they advertising it as a temporary attraction which will be removed after HCOE? I kind of thought they were. If that's the case, then NOT removing it would be deceptive advertising IMO.

That said, I hope they do not and I can't wait to ride it in 2 weeks!

I heard at one time that they were filming a film around Florida for it.
