So does anyone here do any type of volunteer work? I am just starting at a no-kill animal shelter. I just had my second out of three training courses. I'm so excited to do this.

So anyone ever volunteered, or is currently a volunteer somewhere....?

No, but I want to. There really isn't a place to here.

This club I'm trying to get in now, we have 2nd grade pen pals that are from our town, and we do community service and stuff with kids. So I guess the community service would be volunteer work?
But I don't know if I have gotton in yet. They only take so many people and you have to apply. Me and my 2 friends did. They took aplications until yesterday.
Gosh I hope I make it!

I use to volunteer at this shelter place with my friend but then I stopped going.

But this year I am joining a club at my school where they go to different shelters and places and take care of animals. I can't wait to join.:goodvibes

i volunteered for this event which happens up at my park called Lark in the Park again this year. It was fun. I've been volunteering there for about 3-4 years now. You know, whenever it's on.

Wow that's all cool stuff. And Kayla good luck on getting into that club/program!

Thanks. :]

Hmm. I wish we had a club like that Alexis.
Well..I guess we could have and I not know it.
I didn't even know about this one until the teacher put I would probably like it if I joined the club on one of my papers. And I'm like "Oh what's this." lol.

I volunteer every Tuesday and Thursday at Children and Family Services.

I do office work type stuff.

I volunteer at a prep school for six weeks during the summer in the administration office. Fun stuff. =)

I've volunteered for The March of Dimes for the last year. In case noone knows what it is, it's an organization that helps Premature Babies. It's a great cause. I participated in the first WalkAmerica in April of this year. It was amazing. I've raised money throughout the year and I continue to support the cause :)

I volunteered teaching an art class in 6th grade.
I volunteered at a battered womens shelter for several years.
I volunteer with 4H a lot.
I'm working on a fundraiser right now, working with the school year book.
I've worked everywhere from food banks to shelters. Its a humbling experience.

i wish i was some sort of awesome humanitarian and i volunteered somewhere that actually made a difference in people's lives...

but i sometimes volunteer as an historical interpretor (which is essentially an actor) at this place called Pioneer Village. Which is, just that, a pioneer village. They have all these old houses from the area, lots of antiques, and the interpretors walk around and pretend like they are pioneers all day.

It might sound ridiculous but it's really fun (so fun that i'll do it without being paid!!)

***side note, the guy who played Kevin G in Mean Girls also works there. :upsidedow

I volunteered at a nursing home with the activities department. I played Bingo, Checkers, Baked Cookies, balloon volleyball. It was fun.

i volunteer to dance in shows at my dance school...like, at nursing homes, etc. also, i teacher aide, if that counts

that would be so fun.

i volunteered at the library. it was fun. i want to volunteer for an animal shelter too.

I volunteer a little at the library during the summer.

Wow that's cool. I used to do some voulenteer teaching until they changed the rule that you had to be 18 to teach there, so I had to stop. I also sing at nursing homes and stuff like that.
