Volunteer Day question

I am so sorry to ask this as I am sure it has been talked about before! I am the one trying to do disneyland cheap! Someone suggested doing a day of volunteering! I am getting ready to sign up for that so here are a few questions.

Right now disney has the pay at kids price tickets which is what I was thinking about doing? Or the 4 day park hoppers? Does anyone know if I do the day of volunteering what the tickets would cost me then? I would have 3 adults and 2 kids price tickets to pay for! Should I pay for the kids price tickets now or wait and buy them at the gate since there might be a savings? I would love some help before I sign up! Thanks!

I just asked this question yesterday, and our situation is the same (3 adults, 2 kids.) Here's my math.

I think we're just going to buy the promo kid-price tickets online now, and get the FastPasses with our GAD vouchers. I don't think the promo tickets will be good at the time you're going though if your ticker is correct.
