We are due to go to WDW at the end of this month and our current stroller (only 6 months old) has become really hard to push.

So we need to get a new one. DD is 4, still quite small and light for her age. Think we will need some kind of sunshade but not bothered about any other twiddly bits.

So for this age ....... volo or caddy???

I'm curious about this too. My DD will be 4 when we go in July, so I hate to spend a lot of money on a new stroller. I really want a lightweight one that will fold up into an umbrella size if possible for easy travel and getting on and off the bus.

:sunny: I don't know anything about the Caddy, but I bought a Volo for my 4 yo DD for our trip in June. I got a good deal over the internet on a model from last year and I absolutely love it!!!!! It is black and pink and has a canopy and storage underneath. I really like the fact that it is so lightweight (I think 4 lbs), plus it has a carrying strap built on so you can throw it over your shoulder for the Disney busses. The best feature for me, however, is the fact that the handles are high enough that I don't have to hunch over to push her. I'm 5'10" and I am very comfortable pushing it.

Hope this helps!

I also don't know about the caddy but I just bought a MacLaren Triumph for my DD(5) --has some special needs-- and I must say it is just as everyone has claimed. My only complaint is that I didn't know about this stroller years ago--oh the backaches and frustrations I could have avoided over the years!!!!

It is lightweight, folds easily, has an integrated carrying strap, a retractable sunshade, a removable rain cover, the handles are padded and much higher than cheap umbrella strollers( even comfortable for my husband to push and he is 6' 2" tall), and you really CAN push the stroller with one hand --it glides and turns with ease. Also, the seat can be removed for washing and has an adjustable strap to allow for the seat to recline. There is a mesh "basket" for small storage.

I too bought my triumph for cheaper by getting a 2005 model but who cares about the year??? Its still brand new and has all the same features of the current models--just a different color palette.

Good luck with your purchase :goodvibes

I've owned both strollers, and I would go with the volo, it is much easier than the caddy to push and will last you longer. The caddy only goes to 35lbs, but the volo goes to 50lbs. I just went to WDW two weeks ago for my DD's 6th birthday and she was very comfortable in the volo when she rode in the stroller. The newer volos come with the sun canopy, but if you get an older one, they sell an accessory pack that includes a sun canopy. Mine is a 2004, got it from a friend, and it didn't have the canopy, but I just snapped a canopy from a $15 Kolcraft umbrella stroller on there and that worked.

I too have followed all the stroller advice on this board and I just bought a Volo today  for our DS 3 for our trip to WDW next week!!!! Our caddy was nice but the little guy is putting on weight and the caddy is becoming a bit more difficult to push.

I can't wait to try out the Volo!!

Thank you for all the DIS parents out there who take time to give comments and advice!!

I can almost re-quote everything horner5 said! We bought a Volo specifically for our February WDW trip this year. It's the same kind, pink w/ black canopy. It is AWESOME. DH and I are both tall and we had to take turns pushing it because we both loved pushing it. It maneuvers great, you can steer it one-handed easily, and even though it doesn't recline, she sits back in it far enough that she could easily nap (and did several times - she is 3.5 years old). And it is SO nice getting on and off the busses, because it's so lightweight and folds up nicely, plus the shoulder strap comes in handy. I am not familiar w/ the Caddy you mentioned, but I am a STRONG believer in the Volo!!!! I will never, ever go to another brand of stroller - we have gone through many in her short life because we tire of them easily. But not this one, it's THE best. Very worth the $100 (we got ours from Babies R Us for about $80 on clearance, so there are deals on them).

Sorry to be semi offtopic, but your topic made me wonder why you wanted a car for a 4yr old :) (I thought it said volvo or cadddy) lol .. hope you find what you are loooking for, and good luck!

I would go with the Volo hands down. We had been through so many strollers with our kids until we found this one. The Volo is the only stroller we use, and wish we would of had it years ago. We love the mesh seat since it is cool to sit in, and when it rains it dries instantly!!! We have left our stroller out in the stroller parking area for a ride, and have come back to see it had rained while we were gone, and everyone else around us were so upset that their kids strollers were soaking wet, and we just got some paper towels and dried the Volo, and because of the mesh seat, it was dry right away! Also is great for beach vacations. We have actually hosed our Volo off to get the sand off, and that's all it took to get it clean. Didn't have to mess with taking the stroller apart and washing cushions etc...

My dd is very tall for her age. She is 3 1/2 and is about 41" tall, and 33 pounds. She fits very comfortably in the Volo and still has room to grow in it. It does push like a dream, and no more hunching over or kicking the back wheels! We bought the red Volo and it is so easy to spot in Disney parked next to all the black and navy strollers!

I think you and your child would be thrilled with this stroller!
