When we were booking our super cheap deal with UOR, because we were not FL residents, we had to get a 3 park ticket. Boy, am I glad we had to. Volcano Bay was amazing! First, I was shocked at how hot it still was in October. Our first day, last Monday, we went to VB for a few hours and it really turned a way-too-busy, blazing hot day into a great day. Then on Wednesday, we spent the whole day at VB. It was phenomenal. So many great slides for my family. Had it been open on Tuesday and Thursday, we probably would've done it ever day!
The Waturi Beach wave pool is really something. Right next to this Bora Bore-like mountain with beautiful waterfalls, it's a great place to just hang out. The giant Kala and Tai Nui mountain slides (drop floor) were a rush! But I could only do those once. The Lazy River was perfect. I like it more than the one at Aulani. Waters are warm, waterfalls are fun, and for even more fun, you can go to the kiddie area and hit people with water streams in their tubes. Ohno and Ohyah slides were really my favorite. Slides are fun, but dropping an extra five feet at the end is really FUN! Of course, the Krakatau Water Coaster was really something. Having to be in a 2 hour virtual queue wasn't great, but it's the ride everyone wants to do. Plus we were in line with Tilda Swinton, the actress from The Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe and Dr. Strange. That was cool.
Our favorites were these next two. Honu Moana is that giant blue slide that sends your family tube flying up a wall. We did that one A LOT!!! So much fun. And our go to was The Fearless River. That's where you strap on a life jacket and get swept down the a fast moving river. It gave me a whole new respect for rivers at flood stage. But it was fun and relaxing at the same time.
Don't miss this park. Pay a little extra for the three-park ticket. Especially when it's hot. It'll change the whole outlook on your UOR vacation.
