As some of you know, i bought a laptop. i like my laptop but the bad part is, i cant log on o VMK. so i use my parents windoes XP computer and it works. any info would help.

thanks!!!:)

Vista is relatively new, so I wouldn't expect it to have all the drivers that help run VMK working yet.

That, or it's evil

Stick with what you know.

Thats what Ive learned from many trips to places like Subway, Quiznos, or any food place. Any time I think about doing something different or new, I always pay the price. =(

I have Windows Vista and I do VMK perfectly fine. Have you tried using VMKpal?

I also have Vista and have had no problems with playing VMK. Make sure you have the latest version of shockwave.

I have Windows Vista and am able to play VMK! But believe me their are other things I don't like about it.

I have had Vista for a month now with no problems at all, VMK works great with vista. Just depends on the computer, if you bought a new computer with Vista on it then you shouldnt have any problems, if you install Vista on an older computer thats where the problems begin. It migh be an issue with your firewall, that did take me a few days once i got my computer to figure out everything the firewall was blocking

The main thing to remember is Vista needs a lot of memory. It's minimum requirements are 512MB, though some people have run on less but boy was the system crawling...

Basically you have three software/plugin that utilizes memory...Vista, browser, and shockwave...shockwave itself does not need memory but it uses browser memory...doing some math:

512 vista (min.)
256 browser (128 will work but who you kidding)
128 shockwave (added to browser, as explained above)

A system with 1GB will run ok...1.5GB will be better
Now don't buy memory just for vmk, , but don't plan on running other programs either at same time...

this is just my opinion. Vista has not been tested as much as I would have liked it to be. We are pretty much the beta testers. I think it would be smart to wait a year or two for them to do some real tests and get all the bugs out. If you need a new computer for work because your old one is too slow or wont work, then you should get it, because you will probably end upgrading to vista in the long run. Hope this helps.

Agreed. I have two computers running Vista and VMK loads just fine. At first, it ran slowly, but when I slapped a couple of 1GB RAM chips in each of them, the difference was striking, borderline glorious. :)
