Okay, it's been about 4 months now since we got the new blue swirls while our clothes are loading and the green spinning icon while our inventories load. The question I'm curious about is have you actually seen an improvement in speed and/or performance of the game since they initiated these new loading features?

I voted other. I have seen a marked decline in speed, especially when trying to look at my inventory. My main charachter has 55 pages of clothes, with each page having to take 20 seconds to load, it can take me 5 minutes or more to see what I have.

Defintely a decline for me. It takes forever it seems for my clothes to load... several minutes in fact. Even after they have loaded, it's very laggy trying to change clothes... I don't keep anything in my furniture inventory so can't comment on that...

I've always had lag in pirates and ghost, but it seems like it's been worse for the past few months which would coincide with the new inventory loading function.

I voted "Other" because speed has declined. It takes longer to load vmk, takes a lot longer to change clothes, and takes a long time just to load the inventory.

No, it's worse. Especially trying to change clothes. It takes forever for my character to show up, and then when I try to switch between clothing items there is an extremely delayed reaction. So annoying. :headache:

I voted no, but technically it's declined overall for me too. The loading of the actual game seems just a tiny bit faster (not that it was slow to begin with), but the loading of clothes and such takes FOREVER! It's really annoying if you want to change clothes, furnish a room, or look at what you have. Also takes awhile to load in trades, meanwhile the other person you're trading with becomes impatient when you have to load 20 pages of stuff. I liked it better when everything was on 1 page and you could scroll up and down. Since they made the changes, I had to move a few pages of clothing onto another account so I could manage them all! And now they'll probably sit there forever, collecting dust. (Is that virtually possible?) I like the grouping of objects, but would much rather have the option to buy multiple objects at once in the stores instead of having to click Buy-OK-OK about 30 times when I'm trying to purchase something. :upsidedow

I said no. Its alot longer of a time for things to load. I can't stand how long it can take for the clothes to show up when you want to change or when you want to go through them in your inventory as well as the furniture. It was easier the old way. Plus the lag in a room if things haven't loaded for you yet.

To me it seems all these things VMK does to speed up the load process does nothing but slow it down. Last year when they did that new loading feature with the blue boxes and everything is when it first started. That made me load so much slower I don't think it ever worked the way we where told it would. Then when they did the new clothing load it is even slower.

I voted no. It's actually a lot slower for me and causes a lot of lag. My inventory can take 5 minutes to load, and that's just annoying. In general, I have had far worse lag and speed problems since the changes were made than I had in the first place. So bad these days, I tried to play a game of fireworks on New Year's Eve for old time's sake, and the lag was so awful I kept missing fireworks as the game kept "hanging."

It is way slower for me. My clothes take ages to load, especially when i do quests and it says to change your outfit, then it seems even slower. Maybe it's because im so anxious to get a good time in the quest, lol.

over all, as several have mentioned speed has declined - looking at pages and pages of inventori and changing clothes. I selected other because it has improved trading before it was impossible and took forever and now it is possible. Also i never carried anything before, it no longer causes issues but serching for items is not easier.

Several minutes? You're lucky girly!!! Try over 2 hours if I use PAL for my inventory to load! It takes over 30 minutes to load a player using PAL. So, for now I'm back to using Explorer.

I've pretty much always had lag. After the inventory change, things were okay for me. However, right after the issue with the servers on New Year's Eve, I've had MAJOR issues with logging in.

So, I gave it a BIG NO!!!

Definately much slower than before the update. I played a lot more four months ago, the game is now so much slower I rarely come on.

i didnt put a vote in the poll, but ive seen really no difference. My furniture pages, i have 8 by the way, they take a few seconds to load. I usually just click the next arrow to move onto the next page, till i get to the end. Then, all the pages load together.. its weird

I really just wish it didnt take forever to change our avatars clothes. I am always changing my outfit. All the time.

I voted no; of course really meaning that it's worse than before.

Unfortunately these loading changes, along with the infamous blue loading boxes in our rooms, have marred what used to be a beautiful game interface.

In general I have experienced perhaps a slight speed up.

However, the past 3 or 4 days have been a challenge. Clothes, guest rooms and public rooms have all been very slow to load. This started before the announcement of the new magic. For public rooms I have been stuck on the "Happy Holidays From VMK" screen oh so many times. Hmm, Happy wonders what VMK might be testing behind the scenes or if it is just a system problem.

I voted other.

Seems to me that going from room to room is a little faster, but I don't think it is worth the performance decline in the inventory and clothes changing. :scared1:
