I've only been on VMK for the Slide Ride-a-thon and the Space Mt. Ride-a-thon.

This never happened.

It most certainly did crash for those, and crash badly. Rooms were blocked, dc left and right, all that stuff. I'll see if I can find the old links. And those were the days when it was 3000 people tops, and you only had about 25-30 minutes before they SCHEDULED you to dc. It'll all work out, there will be plenty of rugs to share.

Yes I was in vmk earlier and when you're on and 8000 people are on, it lags like the worst lag you've ever seen.
You're stuck in one place for 5 minutes, its no good.

Yes, but may I add that the VMK community grows gradually day by day, week by week, month by month, and year by year. Also, they are promoting the new dark rides by doing it this way. Another thing:: If they did it like the other ride-a-thons in HOST created rooms.. we would just be seeing posts and threads from people about having to wait in lines and the lag.. Am I not correct?

I just wanted to change the title a bit. I think it was a great idea for them to have the Ride-a-Thon involved with the dark rides, and it helps promote them more by doing this. Sure, maybe it has been laggy and a rough day for some people, but you can not blame this on the ride-a-thon. Like somebody earlier said.. Not every single person logged onto VMK was participating in that ride-a-thon. They were out doing the things they enjoy most in VMK.

We all have things we like and we all have things we dislike, and we all have our own opinions on things. I have just truly realized about that people are arguing and putting things down because they cant get on a virtual game, ride a ride, and then get a virtual carpet. Just makes me wonder what everyone would do if VMK would just CLOSE it's does all together..

I agree not everyone was riding, but I also respectfully disagree that you can't blame this on the ride-a-thon. I highly doubt the Kingdom got full just because it's a Friday; many of the times all the courtyards were full, people were actually moving, talking, etc., albeit laggily in the instances I was in. For me at least, when a ton of people are on the rides, lag gets awful. Now, make a ride-a-thon with those same rides and you have a disaster on your hands.

As I said, I enjoy ride-a-thons, whatever their form, but I feel like at this time, the servers were not equipped to handle this. Sorry to all who didn't get any rugs, and sorry to the staff trying to fix this! I can imagine how chaotic things must be at HQ right now. I keep thinking of poor Hula, too. I hope she wasn't already in the game when this happened. I can't even imagine what problems she might have had; she has so many troubles with connection issues and such without this added to it.
