VMK Pirate Trading Cards Question

Okay so I bought my first set of VMK pirate pin trading cards at Uptown Jewelers today, and I got a crow's nest and a treasure rug. I was really hoping for the hat. They are really quite expensive, I'm not saying they are overpriced, just expensive for me. My question is this. What are my odds of getting the bird hat? I also really like the pirate boat chairs. Is the bird hat really hard to get? I would hate to buy a lot of packs just to get a lot of crows nest chairs and treasure rugs. Thanks in advance for your input.

my sister and i together about bought 8 all together and we got 1 bird hat

Theoretically, one in every five boxes should contain a bird hat. If there are ten different cards and there are two different cards per box, it makes sense. So get five boxes and hopefully, you'll get lucky.

This is worse that when pokemon came out. Three rare or shiny cards in an entire box. Got crazy

I bought two packs yesterday. Got back to the house and discovered one of the packs were empty! The first pack had the treasure chair and boat chair. I brought the empty pack to the Emporium in MK and explained what happened. They were happy to give me another pack. I was so happy to discover that I got the room and bird hat! I couldn't wait and opened the pack on the ferry back from MNSSHP last night!

Now I can spend my money on other things!

It took me 10 boxes to get the hat. First 4 boxes I opened were the same. Upside is lots of pins for pin trading. Downside, that was one expensive hat.
No way to know the odds.

Wow! You got the best combination possible, trade-wise.

I only got one box and I got the Galleon bow chair (which I was glad for because I didn't have one at the time) and the medallion.

As far as I know, they're only sold at WDW and DLR. I heard once when the pins first came out that they were being sold at a certain store in New York, but I don't know if that's true or not.

It's true - the World of Disney store on 5th Avenue in New York City sells the VMK Pirate Pin packs.

They were out of stock for a while - but they are back

No, I'm sure it's for a room. I'm just not very knowledgeable about the cards and am pleasantly surprised to know that a room is an option.

I'm so happy I just bought my second pack of cards and I got the bird hat and the flaming ransacked window. YAY, WOOT, YAY. I know it's sad lol. I'm being totally unreasonable and I love it.
