VMK agreed to work with Ridley Pearson on the second Kingdom Keepers book, Kingdom Keepers: The Rise of Chernabog. Rooms metioned in the second book may be in the Kingdom. :earboy2:

VMK was being developed as I wrote KK. I traveled to headquarters and they showed me what they could of it, but it's very different now. The good news is: they've agreed to work closely with me on KK2 -- and we may have some cross-over, where actual rooms mentioned in the novel end up on the site.

My kid and I both liked that book. I'm glad to hear there will be a followup. We're working on the Abadazad books now. Have you tried those?

Very exciting to hear he's working on a new book! Yay!! Kingdom Keepers was a book that I thoroughly enjoyed, my teen enjoyed, and my (then) 8yo enjoyed.... How's that for broad age appeal?

Pete, who wrote the Abadazad series? I may have to look those up at the library. Always looking for new books for the family to enjoy :goodvibes

Abadazad is a sort of a cross between a chapter book and a graphic novel. The series is written by J.M. DeMatteis and illustrated by Mike Ploog. It's in Disney Press and I first heard about it in a segment with the author on NPR.

What I like about this series and the Kingdom Keepers is that Disney's book division seems to have a little more creative leeway lately. It used to be that everything was movie and tv spinoffs. Now it seems like some original ideas are being developed within the publishing arm of the company.

Oh my gosh!!!!! I am soooo excited!!! I have ready the 1st book adleast 10 times. I'm soooo excited!!
