Vmk Hosts And Staff!! Are They Nice?

Hi. I play vmk and im Paisley. Has vmk staff been nice to you while you play? It seemed like it for me. I was wrong as dirt!! This is exactly what happened. I went to a room with the host Phinney. It was my second time there. Then she was being nice to a player/ So i told her she is a cool dude. Then her responce was.. What! Me! I'm not a dude! and boot.... What did i do next? Reported!!!!!!! Share your stories.

I like VMK Staff Hula is the best! I do have a story 1 time I was in a ride room of Phinny's and I was afk for 10 seconds(really only that) I stood in the corner I came back clicked on the track as soon as I clicked I got booted. Maybe staff just get too stressed and have to answer the same question over and over again and tell everyone no their inferno is not for tarde and no they can't be friends.

Mine too was with Phinny. It was my first time going in 1 of her rooms. I was the tenth person in, took literally five steps and bam! I got the boot.

I think my favorite is Host Lily, I see her a bunch of times in the Frontier dock just hanging out with any normal person at that area. That means a lot to me because that means she cares about the love of the game.

Many people confuse Host Fin for being mean, with the fact she tends to be strict. It's not a matter of how mean or how nice she is, she expects everyone to follow the rules. And when they dont, she has a boot and knows how to use it! Once you get that you will realize host fin is not only nice, but also very funny as well. Host fin was also a VMK_ even after the Host_ names started being used. Not sure what her role was back then but she does seem to be the one who notices things like duplicate IP's and the like. I wouldnt rush to a judgement if I were you on host fin, you may miss the opportunity to see how great she really is.

All the hosts crack me up the patience they all have is really remarkable.

Fin has been around a lot longer than the other Hosts and is a lot more strict on the rules.

She can be and is a really nice Host.

Personally, I like all the Hosts. They have to have tons of patience to put up with all they have to put up with.

You just need to learn the personalities of each person and figure out what you can and cannot do with each. With Phinny, just follow the rules to the strictest measure and you'll get along great with her.

I agree with both of you. Phinny has her moments, but I always get a nice "Hi cyre! " from her. You've got to build repoirs (spelling?) with them to get to know them. Phinny booted me once b/c i did magic in her room. lol I didn't see the teleport above me and stupidly did teleport magic to try to move. Few seconds later, whoosh! the boot. Needless to say I haven't done that again!

Hula is great! She came to my room during one of her room visits She's so funny. She did this tiki god chant, calling herself "Pele, goodness of the volcano!" So now, whenever i see her I call her Pele. She calls me miss Maui, back. Did you know that Hula was going to be HOST_Pele instead of hula? She said she didn't want people thinking she was an angry person hehe.

Lily is a dear, very silly. lol I think she's the most lax of all the hosts. Always a good time to be had with her.

Sparky I don't see too often, so haven't gotten to know him.

well i have to say i like the hosts i have met i see lily around alot also she dont say much lol but she just hangs out and phinny i went into on of her rooms one time and i was finishing a quest where i had to dance and she said stop and right when i did she booted me of course i was upset but its just a game and i know how it can get everyone has there days but the other day i went into her room and she complimented me on how i put together the new clothes with other clothing items said it looked really good so you just have to be there on the good days and hope you dont get all the bad lol but still what would we do without staff nice or mean they do their job

Actually Lori, she has only been mean to me twice (I won inferno in one of the early games and she booted me without giving it to me and told the room I d/ced (my wife was in the room at the time) and then she booted me from a teleporter game because I got stuck behind some crates, right after I asked, "how do I get out of here") but I also watch her behavior with others and she is just plain rude. I rarely say anything in host rooms, sometimes, I just stand in the door and watch. Lily is nice, if kind of a bubblehead lol, Hula is very nice 99% of the time, but cannot stay on long enough haha. Sparky plain rocks, he is just cool and funny. but Fin? I have no idea what her issue is, I have watched her since day 1 treat regular VMK player like total trash. I avoid her games now. (since the first pin trading event, she basically trashed everyone in the room the entire time I was in there)

Guys to go along with what Aengus is saying, think of it this way. VMK staff members are as yavn has said, mostly school teachers and are expected to keep children in this game in line. It is their job and they are really much like babysitting us. You could think of VMK as a School with yavn as principal and Hosts as teachers, your school has rules and regulations you are suppose to follow in order for order to be held and if those rules aren't followed then you can think of a boot as being sent to the principal's office or being banned a suspension. VMK has the same consequences as real life and should be treated like reality. So back when my little sister did Baby things I asked her one day "so if you were in WDW walking down Main Street, would you be asking for your "mummy" or if someone is taken?" I like to treat VMK as the real thing since it is mainly here for me to get my Disney fix while I have to be away from the place I love. So just remember that the next time you log on, it's pretty fun to pretend

P.S. I really don't have any bad experiences with any Hosts that they caused themselves only one that was my fault and I'm glad Lily forgave me. I just appreciate the hard work they do everyday and all the stuff they have to put up with from players

One time a while ago, I waited in line for a host game and when I finally got in, I had a bout of severe lag and beecuase I wasn't moving, the host booted me. I was really irritated for about ten whole minutes before I realized it was the host's prerogative to do that. I didn't like it, but she had her reasons, so I calmed down. I can't remember which host it was, but I've never had any serious problems with any of them. That boot was the closest thing to a problem I've ever had.

Booting somebody is good fun? I would have to strongly disagree.

Politely saying, "Um, do I look like a dude? Please leave my room - LOL!" would be good fun.

I have been booted from staff rooms one or two times. I don't mind that. What I don't like is that they give wishy-washy answers when confronted about it, even when you just say "Hey Red, why did you boot me from your room a few hours ago?" The answers I got were along the lines of "I don't know what you're talking about, Cardinal." Staff definitely have a "don't know, don't care" attitude to most of our questions, feelings, and ideas. They're all too busy playing king and queen in their own little virtual world

I definitely get that people have had bad experiences with the hosts. Just like real life everyone doesnt always get along for whatever reason. I will say i frequent many VMK related web sites and for every complaint I have ever read, I have seen a screen shot that will say a different story.

We all know you cant always believe what you read, but a screenshot (unedited of course LOL) can tell a whole lot more. Sometimes the context may paint a different picture, but that isnt the norm.

Obviously you cant get a real screenshot of a boot, becasue you cant see it coming LOL

But I guess my point is I have seen countless screenshots of host fin being friendly, funny, and even a little goofy. I have not seen many (if any) of any host being anything that would cause me to think they were not fit to do their job.
