We were up bright and early this morning, ready to head over to Islands of Adventure. We had breakfast at the Ponderosa next door big mistake, it was totally gross. Since neither of us had ever been to IoA, we followed the advice in the Unofficial Guide, and arrived quite early. We were not the only ones, so we joined the others and bought our 2-day passes. We used a coupon from the Entertainment book that got us $7 each in Universal Script, that we used later that day for dinner. Once in the park, we waited over at the entrance to Super Hero Island for admittance to that section of the park. One of our biggest disappointments at IoA was the fact that many attractions were not open when the park opened, forcing us to skip them and backtrack later. When we finally were allowed to enter at 9:15, we headed straight for the Hulk fantastic! I especially liked the way it began, but I wont spoil it for anyone who hasnt ridden yet. From there we went straight to Spiderman no way was I trying that Fearfall thing! Spiderman has to be the single best attraction Ive ever ridden! Plus, it was a walk on, so we got off and decided to immediately ride it again. Wow phenomenal! From here we continued along to Ripsaw Falls I had brought ponchos, and we felt like big geeks, but we laughed our way through and had a terrific time. Thank goodness for the poncho - I ended up with a pool of water in my lap! Our next stop was to be the Bilge Rat Barges, but they were not yet open how frustrating! We continued our trek to Jurassic Park which was also not open! The Ice coaster was good, but ended up hurting my neck and DHs hip so we skipped Fire. We rode the Cat in the Hat, took in Poseidans Adventure (which we very much enjoyed) had a couple beers then decided to walk over to Universal Studios. It was 1pm.
At Universal, we immediately walked into Hanna Barbera, then Twister, then King Kong, Jaws, Men in Black, Back to the Future, and ET. It was now 5:30pm, so we decided to head over to Margaritaville for dinner. The food there was very good especially the crabcakes. I had the perfect Margarita and went back to the hotel satisfied with all that had been accomplished on our first day, but unsure of what we would do on Saturday.
