So as part of my New Year "getting healthy" goals, I want to start taking vitamins/supplements. I went onto Dr. Weil's site and took the questionnaire that you take to determine what you need, and my profile was such that to get monthly packets sent would be $148 PER MONTH!! HA! No way!

So, I guess I'll just try to find some good quality fish oil and multivitamin at CVS unless anyone knows of any reasonably-priced packets for women in their 30s?

Thanks for any input.

GNC sells boxes with the daily packets in them with the ultra mega vitamin plus other supplements.

Decide what you need --- Typically the GNC Ultra Mega (for men or women) has almost all you need. If your body is lacking in certain vitamins/minerals, you can buy those supplements. Also, if you have any "issues", you can get herbs for that.

You should go to your MD and get a full blood work done to see if you're lacking anything and find out what all your numbers are. From there, you can decide what you do/don't need. In the meantime, just take the Ultra Mega. GNC is top of the line (I would be careful with store brand vitamins)

I take a regular multivitamin that includes 100% of most everything I would ever need. I also take a Super B complex in hopes of boosting my energy levels. I don't really understand the vitamin "packs." What do they do for you that a multi won't? If you know certain things you'd like to take, budget wise you'd probably do best at Walmart and put together your own vitamin regimen using a pill keeper.

I do notice Rite Aid advertising the GNC packs quite often. They also have a lot of their vitamin supplements buy one, get one free.

Thanks for the info! I'm getting my blood work done in February, so maybe I'll just find a multi until then. We have a GNC so maybe I'll browse around in there and check out their mega packs.

Thanks!

My boys and I take either Nordic Naturals cod liver oil or Carlson Lab brand, lemon flavored and does not taste like fish/no burping after. My boys are 4 and 8 and love taking it every night, my youngest even reminds us every night if I forget to take it out of the fridge...Garden of Life http://www.gardenoflife.com/ is a very good brand. They have a family vitamin from the vitamin code line that my friend and her whole family take. I take their Raw One vitamin code for women, I love it as it is only once a day. So many vitamins I looked at prior said to take between 2-4 a day and I loved the fact that the raw one are only once daily. In addition to this I take extra vitamin d tablets a day too, actually gummy ones that my boys also take. Once we finish this bottle of cod liver oil I'm switching back to the Nordic Naturals arctic D so we can eliminate the extra vitamin d gummy.

The Women's Ultra Mega vitamin is really all you need until you find out what all your numbers are. It has everything you need and then some. Much, much better than the store brands or other commercial brands.

After you have your blood work and get your numbers, you can create your own "packets" using what you actually need. GNC sells the little vitamin holders for 99 cents. I keep one in my purse for workdays and one in my tote for weekends. I fill it each morning (or the night before) with all my stuff and I'm on my way.

Thanks for this info! Funny, I tried to get cod liver oil into my kids a few years ago by sneaking it into their smoothies, but they weren't fooled! ;) I used to have to take a spoonful every night before bed when I was younger as I had Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. Also thanks for the tip on Raw One. I am going to look into that one and the GNC Mega one. I know there has been a lot of press about Vit D deficiencies but I am just so new to this that I have a lot of researching to do to see what I need especially after my blood profile.
