We stayed at the Vistana last year and really liked it. I've seen the Westgate online and that looks good. We looking at two weeks in August with a 4, twins 6 and 13 year old. Any pros and cons on both would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

We stayed at Westgate Lakes on Turkey Lake Road April 2004. We stayed in the standard room. My in laws stayed in a 2 bedroom room. The resort was clean, the parking was horrible though. We very rarely found parking anywhere close to our room. Aside from one of the pools, we didn't use any other amenities. We did eat at the restaurant on site though and it was reasonably priced and very good.

My friends stayed in Vistana last year and Westgate this year and they hated Westgate! They spent the entire week comparing it to Vistana and it never measured up in any respect. Just thought I would let you know.

I will be going to Westage in April and am interested as well. Just curious which Westgate did your friend stay in?

There is no way that Westgate compares to Vistana. If you are expecting equal accomodations, you will be severely disappointed. If you are getting a GREAT rate, then you might be happy with it.

I have stayed at Vistana twice and Westgate Lakes once. Westgate Lakes does not compare to Vistana. I thought the rooms at Westgate Lakes were nice, but that was about it. The front desk staff were rude (and at 1am that is not the kind of reception you want!), agree with another poster about the parking. Lord help you if you go out for dinner and want to actually park close to your unit when you return!! The pools were alright, nothing special, just a pool. If I were you I would return to Vistana. You can't lose, they have everything you need.
